Amira listened, not moving a muscle as Widow spoke "Yeah... I was thinking since we're struggling without.. Oh, Nevermind" She spoke softly, her ears swung back but still remained still as Duny spoke, listening to everything he said "He, does sound a lot like Ghost, doesn't he..?" She inquired.
When Pearl approached Amira finally opened her eyes and lifted her head a little to be polite "Oh, Hello, Yes, I'm Amira. You Met Adonis? We are foalhood friends. nice to meet you, welcome to the herd" She greeted, taking advantage of the shield Widow was providing |

| Sora looked up at Duny, the sun hitting him just right that made him look almost as Ghost had just days before. Her mind flashed back to Ghost, the time he'd admitted to her, the time she'd saved him from drowning, it made her throat dry. Chest tight. She listened to his words, looking over to her son to see Adonis looking up at Duny with almost a proud expression. She didn't know Widow all too well, and Pearl and Kina she'd never heard of. |

| Pearl trotted down the hill. "Hello, honey" she said. "Im Pearl, the new horse Adonis was talking about" she said. "Are you Amira?" |

| As Amira woke up widow could see the heartbreak happen again as she realized he wasn't ghost "we have star and sora, their good at scavenging and there's a new goal who knows a lot about herbs and scavenging as well" he said making sure his legs where tucked out of the way so Amira was more comfortable he blew out his nose softly "and dunny has been with ghost and the herd for long enough he can help lead untill we find a new lead stallion or he could even become the lead stallion" widows long mane fell over amria in messy waves as he lowered his head his body shielding her from the bitter winds

As dunny made his way over to the foals he caught sight of Amira and widow "poor filly, her mother and ghost are gone" he said with a soft whicker before slowly trotting up the hill ghost (and West lmao) used to stand on. Raising his head he whinnyed to get the herds attention "I know it's tough right now and I likely don't have enough power to be standing up here but us loosing ghost will leave the winter extremely harsh, as we don't have other stallions old enough me widow and Adonis have agreed on me temporarily taking charge of the herd throughout winter." His voice was strong but shaky as he spoke he flipped his head to move his mane out of his face "and despite these harsh times let's welcome two new fillys to the herd pearl and kina" he nodded before walking back down the hill |

| Amira was stuck in a odd position - half asleep yet also half awake, tho she was out, her conscious was still in tact, feeling something warm pop down next to her and then something resembling a head covering her withers, her heart hurt for a minute then relieved thinking it was Ghost. She woke up and looked next to her seeing Widow, her wet eyes looked broken, her heart and stomach dropped realizing the cold reality. At his somewhat comforting words she took a deep breath "Ok... If you say so, but what about this winter? It's been expected to be cold and food more scarce then the recent years.. It'll be a struggle without Ghost, won't it?" Amira asked trying not to cry, gently laying her head in front of Widow's chest on the ground, staring off into the distance |

| Kina waked up. Pearl had left. Kina and Pearl were identical twins; so Kina followed Pearl's hoofprints into the herd's grounds. "Pearl! Why did you leave me?" She asked Pearl, who was talking with a few mares and a colt.

Pearl heard Kina. "Hi, Kina. Sorry! I got shot at and came here. " Pearl looked at the mare. "This is my identical twin, Kina. Can she join too?" Pearl asked, looking at Sora and Star. |

| "Hello, Sora." Said Pearl, knodding to the mare. " Hi, Adonis." She said, giving the colt the same. |

| "I'm Sora, and this is my colt Adonis." She explained, nudging Adonis and the yearling just giving a nod. |

| Pearl looked at the new horse. "Well thank you! Hi! I'm Pearl. What's your name?" |

| Adonis nodded, heading to find his mother

Sora overheard one of the new horses speak of medicine, that being her specialty. She walked over, seeing all the information was what she knew as well. "That's correct, at least of what I know anyways." She mused, noting that Adonis had trotted over. |

| "Thank you!" Pearl said and grinned as big as a horse can grin. "I can help find food very well. I can begin helping today. I can also read weather" She smiled. "There is a rain-shower coming soon I can smell it." |

| Star chuckled slightly as pearl shared her knowledge "you'll be quite helpful young one" the old mare lowered her head to sniff at the ginger "though this ginger could be used to help grow mushrooms and those can help with coughs" she swished her long tail

Widow nodded "I'm sure we'll find a way to cope" he told Adonis giving him a nod as he walked off. The pinto stallion sighed and decided to go find Amira who was probably still by the creek. Swishing his tail he saw her deep bay painted body curled up on the ground he could hear her muffled sobs and he made his way over. Without speaking he dropped to his knees laying down next to the young mare laying his head over her withers"it'll be okay. Well all be okay " he murmured softly not only to reassure her but also himself |

| "I also am quite good at medicines" Pearl said. She walked away and brought back a few willow branches from Willow trees that grew by the creek. "Anyone has a headache eat willow its a natural aspirin. " She grabbed some comfrey as well. "Comfrey helps with joint pain" she picked some plantain. "If you get stung by a bee or bit by a fly make a plantain poultice and that will get rid of itching and swelling." She grabbed wild ginger, that was growing in the shade. "Wild ginger is used to make poultices and help reduce swelling its a kind of antibiotic." "But I guess you all know that" she added, embarrased. Running around with plants was kinda wierd. |

| Pearl looked up gratefully at the mare. "Thank you." She said. She stood up, feeling refreshed, yet sad. "I can be someone who looks for food" she offered, overhearing Adonis. "I'm quite good at it; I have been on my own for a while. Maybe some others could be food-searchers. There also could be water-searchers, though if winter had been what I survived through, all water will be frozen and we will have to eat snow." |

| Adonis sighed, sniffling a smidge. "I don't know how we'll do this winter, the winters have been getting worse and worse every year. It'll be a struggle but...i'm sure we'll last." He took a shot at a smile, it staying for a moment or two before gliding away as he looked over at Widow. |

| An old dull coated mare approached the filly. She lowered her soft pink nose and nudged pearl "don't cry darling" the seal bay mare murmured her heart shaped star on her forehead framed by her parted forelock. Although the mare was skinny and probably in her early thirties the herd had the upmost respect for the qaurab mare she had been in the herd the longest of all the horses and although she was a kind old soul she made sure to keep the young horses in line the old mare went by the name of star she was originally a riding horse but her young owner fell while riding and took her last breath under stars hooves the girls father set her free not being able to look at her any longer and she had been living in the herd ever since.

As widow and Adonis finished burying ghost the dunnalino pinto stallion sighed and shook out his now muddy mane "I can't believe he was taken from us in such a brutal way and right before winter as well" his blue eyes watched as the dirt fell into place stop the mighty stallion widows ears where dropped to the side his energy wasted on burying and mourning his mentor |

| Cried for these horses who had lost their favorite horse. Cried for herself, the stress over the close call. Cried because if she hadnt walked off from the herd stupidly then maybe Ghost wouldnt have either. Cried because if she had stayed then maybe she would have been shot, not Ghost. She finally fell asleep. |

| Pearl lay down. It seemed kind that even though this herd was having a very hard time, they had taken time to try to be kind to her. Her, who was nobody compared to Ghost. She had seen it all. She was very sad that Ghost had died, whereas when the hunter tried to shoot her she had darted off. She felt as if she deserved to be dead instead of Ghost. If only the hunter had missed the deer and shot her, then this herd would not be sad. Nobody would have been sad over her dying. She was just a nobody, a loner whose mother had died and she had never had any herd either. Nobody would have missed her or cried for her. She lay down and cried. |

| Amira stopped at the stream, ears flickering listening around her for any danger, once she was sure she was safe, the mahogany bay paint mare laid down by the waters edge. Trying to forget about the white lump on the ground as she had seen him, but it was impossible, impossible to forget such a great soul like Ghost, she'd known him ever since she could remember as young a filly as she was. Some tears came, some painful and aggressive grunts here and there as the young mare tried to process everything. Soon, she'd calm down and eventually go to sleep- well, the best she could |

| "I know that." Apri said, a little upset at remembering the horse named Ghost's fate. "It is upsetting that humans would shoot any innocent horses. I dont really know what to say except that I am sorry for your loss." |

| Sora just stared at her, an unreadable expression on her face before she snorted. "We know he's dead, Ghost was the one we all liked most. Adonis and Widow are burying him now, and if we do let you in don't expect it to be rainbows and unicorns. We're all sad he's gone, it'll take a while before order is restored. But for now, i'm sure they'll let you." She tried to say warmly, though she snapped a little as she walked and caught a glimpse of Adonis and Widow carrying Ghost away. |

| Apricot (AKA Kersti aka Apri) heard all the commotion. A white horse had been killed by an arrow. She saw it happen, and then then the hunter turned and tried shooting her. She was small.enough to look like a large deer behind brush, and Apri WAS behind a bush. She stood up and ran off after the herd. The white horse was part of the herd. Yes, the arrow was meant for a deer, and the human would be in bad trouble for shooting a horse, but still, Apri knew that maybe the human wouldnt get in trouble, and he would shoot more horses. It was safer in a herd. She ran and ran and ran, until she got asthma and ran right smack into the herd. "Hi" she gasped. "One of your members were killed. I saw it all. The human was shooting at a deer and hit your horse. Then the man aimed his arrow at ME thinking I was a deer. True, i am an appaloosa mustang and small but he tried shooting me. I dodged it and ran off. I hope you accept me?" |
