Scene Two: The Free Range
Roleplay Type: Horses Only
Wild Horse herds roam the wilderness of the Free Range, trying not
to be captured or eaten by predators. To the North are the Great Mountains,
to the East are the vast Plains and beyond that Desert. To the South is the Jungle, and to the West
is the Coastline.
"This is Snow, showed up today I think." Sora hurriedly explained, noting what a bay mare needed for one of her foals gashes before explaining something and trotting back off into the storm. She came back with hawkthorn and quickly ground the herb slightly, having to nudge it onto the wound before tending to the rest of the herd who needed it.
Raven appeared trotting out of the forest. Her worst injuries only were a scratch on her back and a cut on one side of her face that wasn't really bleeding. She quickly noticed Ghost. Her proud victory trot was forgotten as she galloped over. She looked down at the white stallion and said," I'm glad your still alive. I was too busy chasing off those wolves to help you." She looked around, and spotted Snow. the blue roan was startled for a minute, wonder why this new mare was here. But she quickly relaxed. The white horse seemed to be helping, not causing any harm. Leaving Ghost, she walked over to the new mare. "Where did you come from? I didn't think I was gone for that long..." Raven said, trying not to sound unfriendly while also not wanting to let her curiosity through. "My name is Raven," She added, hoping to appear welcoming.
Without questioning the mare ghost slowly layed down. He closed his eyes and just thought for a minute before opening them again. The rain was comng down harder and even though he was mostly sheltered under the canopy of trees he was still worried about sora and the herd that was out of his view
Ghost paused as sora spoke the mare could see right through him even if he was acting like it was okay. He lifted his front leg then out it back down every part of his body was on fire. Snorting he spoke "how bad really is it?" It was a dumb question and he released as soon as he asked. With a wince he lowered his head putting his nose up to the ground so he didn't have to hold his head up, even the little bit of mussle strain on him from holding head up hurt.
Sora narrowed her eyes at the wound, them dropping after a moment. "These cuts are.....a lot deeper then I thought. You can stop acting, Ghost. I know it hurts, i've dealt with this numerous times and you wouldn't be the first one to act as if you were fine, as you defanitely are not." She said, voice still lightly snappy as she examined them closer.
Ghost snorted at sora as she snapped at him, "sora i know im not his sire, all i am to him is a horse but he should know that a horse needs to earn freedom." He looked at the blue roan as she came over to apologize "no need to apologize, it wasn't your fault" he started before wincing as sora passive aggressively put moss on his cuts "has raven gotten back yet?" He asked trying to seem like he wasn't as hurt as he was. His blue eyes scanned the herd for the mare wit no sight of her. He just had to hope she was okay
Sora flicked her gaze and softened it at the sight, smiling softly. "Yes, yes this will work. Thank you," She said, taking it from the mare and applying it to Ghost.
Midnight made sure Amira stayed in her corner then eyed Adonis to make sure he behaved as well, she walked outside the cave and lowered her head with a sigh "Are you ok Ghost?" She asked softening her tone "Sorry I was distracted with my little brat of a foal" She apologized glancing annoyedly back at the cave before shaking her head at Ghost "You look hurt... Bad" She stated the obvious (Noooo poor Ghost)
Snow nodded to Ghost, who looked a awful lot like her, she walked along but kept her distance from the group as they got back, she stood patiently and silently as the angry one (Sora lol) Scolded Ghost over to her, she looked at the mare's eyes than his wounds, quickly understanding what she was doing, Snow quietly turned and trotted away, looking for some herbs and grabbing some moss and wetting it, she brought it back to the mare and injured stallion "Here, will this do?" She offered trying to stand tall to get to Sora's height
Sora finished scolding Adonis, the rest of the herd silent as she turned and trotted out of the cave before darting over to Ghost and following along close to his side. "Oh good God," She muttered, following along until they reached the cave and he called out Adonis. "Oh shut up, now's not the time. Besides, are you his sire? No, so shut up and get over here so I can see what you did to yourself." The mare snapped, anger still lingering in her voice as she saw the wounds he had before taking note of what to bring to him to help.
All ghost saw whas a whirl of everything around him, he felt himself hit a few trees the he blacked out. He blinked away the drowsiness as a sharp wave of pain hit his body. Looking up he saw a white mare that was a replica of him besides a dished nose and lighter bones. She was undoubtedly an Arabian. With a slight wince he spoke "im...fine" he managed. His jaw was likely broken along with several rips and he was coated hin blood making him look like a small child threw paint at him. Hearing the communion from the herd he took a breath a d pushed up onto his hooves pushing the pain away from his mind he took a few shaking steps before looking at the mare "you can follow there's wolves around" he snorted before continuing his walk. When he got closer to the herd he heard duny come over to him he was able to make out most of the champagnes sentence "Whoah easy there" he felt duny wLk right next to him so ghost could lean on the other stud a little bit. The white(ish lol) stallion continued to walk to the herd he dipped his head at the mares in respect before looking at Adonis wincing he spoke "try and guess how old I was when I went blind in my right eye" was all he said to te young colt before half collapsing. He fell onto his knees and with dunys help got back on his feet "I was four months old and tried to get freedom a bobcat attacked me" ghost finished as the pain started to get more intense in his ribs
(Here's something 😈) Running through the fields the next morning, with the wind through her mane, a pretty little white arabian mare galloped, she'd just escaped a farm, she had just turned 3, her name was Geist, after her said site. But since she ran away from the farm, she chose a new name. The white mate slowed to a collected trot looking like a angel, the sun on her white coat making her look like a Ghost as she scented a group or herd of horses close by, she glanced around and kept her neat trot until she saw the group. She whinnied out to the horses seeing two foals and two angry mares. Making her somewhat change direction, she then saw another white horse, he looked like he was in trouble atop a cliffs edge "Hey watch out!" She called frightened as he moved closer to the edge, but it was too late... The stallion had crumbled the ground beneath him and fell, seemingly knocking himself out, concerned for the stallion's safety and well-being, Snow picked up a slow canter and got the the group of horses by the injured fella, she saw a mare, Raven, Snow had lightly heard the name being called by a champagne stallion, she looked down at Ghost then at the others "How can I help?" She asked somewhat shyly, she lowered her muzzle and nudged the stallion's neck "Are-... Are you ok?" She asked softly hoping not to startle the horse
Amira snorted I cant wait to be free from rules! She exclaimed giving playful nips, she dodged the path that Raven and Storm had passed and looked puzzled Where did they come from? She watched them for a second before hurrying off to catch up with Adonis. The mahogany bay tobiano filly stopped and jumped with a squeal when Sora appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Adonis, she cowered down and let her ears fall back in fear that theyve been caught.
(Lmao why is this giving me lion king vibes when Simba and Nala got caught XD)
Amira didnt dare argue with the red chestnut mare, only anxiously smile and nod when Adonis said he wanted freedom. But she listened to the mare and followed as Sora dragged Adonis, she occasionally looked around for her own mother. As they arrived back at the herd, the members beginning to create a dome around them, a angry blue roan mare awaited them Amira! Midnight said in a deep tone, the filly lower ring her head and casting one more glance at the colt as if to say good luck before leaving the two to join her mother. Midnight had decided to wait after hearing that theyve foals had snuck away from her, knowing that Sora was going to find them she went to help with Ghost (Nooooo not again poor Ghost the Goat). The mare looked over at Sora Im sorry I didn Watch them the whole time, Ghost fell and I thought they were with the herd, Ill make sure they dont try this again She apologised before nipping at Amiras ears and rump Now as for you young lady, in the cave, Now! And dont think about running off again Ill be watching you Midnight told the filly, nothing but coldness in her voice. Once Amira went in the cave Midnight sighed, unnoticeably glancing at Storm thinking -he gave me this to deal with..- before standing at the cave opening
Raven saw Ghost and scalloped towards him. She had experience dealing with wolves, and was good at finding the alpha or wolf making the commands. Once she had spotted them, she kicked away the wolves attacking her, trampling one in front of her. She quickly grabbed the lead wolf's scruff and tossed them aside with as much force as she could use. She was distracted by a wolf leaping on her back, and she had to roll over the wolf to get rid of them. In the moments she had before another wolf attacked, she reared In front of the lead wolf who was still in shock from being thrown. The mare slammed her hooves down on the wolf. The wolf yelped as it was hit, then went limp. The only thing left to do was run. The wolves were after Ghost, but when they realized what had happened to their leader, they would retreat. She just had to hope Ghost had survived the fall.
Sora heard the arrival of Raven, lifting her head and eyeing her. When she asked why the foals were alone in the forest, her eyes filled with a mix of concern and rage. "They're what?" The mare asked, standing quickly and walking to the edge of the cave, seeing a glimpse of a coat in the forest and cursing under her breath as the rain pelted her red roan coat. She pivoted on her hind legs to the opening of the cave and darted out, hightailing it once she reached flat ground and running. Sora saw Ghost fall and her eyes went wide for a moment before she shook her head and scowled, continuing to sprint towards the forest. She eventually burst through the bushes and knocked Adonis down with her snout, seeing him out, snorting once. "What the hell are you doing?!" Sora boomed, Adonis standing and braving his mother. "I'm going to freedom, Evden told me all about it." He snapped, Sora just groaning before picking up Adonis by the neck. "Same with you, Amira. Follow along," She ordered, picking Adonis back up as he scrawled in her grasp. Eventually she set him down and told Amira to wait, taking the colt someplace else before scolding the life out of him. <<<>>> After about 10 minutes, she walked back out, Adonis following orderly behind her. "All right, come along." Sora asked of the foals, continuing to the caves, the foals trickling behind her as Adonis tossed a few glances at others. She made a small bubble within the herd, a aura of rage surrounding her as she went. Eventually the mare came to a clear area and pointed Amira to Midnight, tossing another scowl at Adonis.
(ExCuSe mEh MoUnTaIn GoAt? LMAO) Ghost tossed his mane as the wind picked up. The rain was blowing sideways now, and the white stud trotted up to midnight. "It's going to start snowing at this rate, I need to find sora" before the two could stop him he turned on his hind and started to head for the cliffs. The roc was slippery and muddy as he lunged forward up the steep incline there was a rustle in the bushes (hyrule......sorry if I trigger your ptsd) and a snarl followed. Atheist ten wolves jumped form the bushes lunging at ghost. All he could do was run, there were too many to fight he turned and darted up the slippery cliff edge getting to the top where it spread out. His legs were muddy and his mane whipped in the wind he reared charging at the wolves to separate them but it wasn't enough he was cornered on te edge of the cliff, and it crumbled under his hind legs making him loose balance and fall.
<><><> Duny heard ghost hoovesteps and turned "Wait ghost just-" the stallion left before he could finish his sentence and the rain pored down drenching him and the mares. "Okay let's get to the caves!" He shook his mane and trotted on with the mares
(Sorry I havent posted in so long. Just pretend Raven and Storm were taking a break from everyone or something) Raven trotted through the forest. She wanted to get back to the others. It had been fun exploring with only her brother as company, but it was getting a bit lonely. She almost ran into Amira and Adonis but managed to go around them, not think much of the fact that they were alone in the forest. She just guessed the herd was close by and continued on. After it had been a bit she began to worry what they were doing and where everyone else was. Even when she finally spotted the herd she still was concerned for the foals.
Storm didnt even notice the foals as he followed Raven, he was in too good of a mood. Surprisingly, with only Raven around, he had begun to feel better and was ready to rejoin the herd and hopefully make some friends. But when he saw Midnight he started to get nervous. He knew how much she must hate him, and for good reason. He kept close to Raven as she approached Sora and asked what the foals were doing out in the forest.
Amira started up a canter, as they got miles away she grew tired "Adonis, when can we stop for a break, i'm tired.." She mumbled looking around for danger
Amira jumped at the touch and let out a quick squeal but hushed when he said so, she looked at him as he said that he'd go tonight, she wasn't sure for a moment but quickly smirked "Yeah! Let's go!" She chirped happily but not too loud then she followed behind
Adonis darted up behind Amira and nipped her on the rump, watching her reaction before quieting her. "Hush, if we go, we go now." He said with a smile, prancing off.
Amira let him sneak off into the thicket, behaving herself and trying to distract the adults. When it got dark and Midnight turned her back, Amira took her opportunity to sneak away. She wondered through some bushes, getting further and further away from the herd. She looked around for the colt, the hooting giving her a eerie feeling
Adonis nodded, checking to make sure nobody was watching before his smile became straight faced as he trotted into the underbrush, blending in beneath the thick plants. After a while it was dusk and they had to stop for the night, owls hooting. <<<>>>
Amira side eyed Adonis, a smirk appearing at the corner of her mouth "Good, you lead the way captain" She whispered. Midnight looked back at the two who were whispering amongst themselves, she smiled happy Amira had a friend in the herd and kept walking with the others looking for the shelter
(Amber champagne splash white with just a sprinkle of roan) (lmao) Adonis groaned, following along Midnight before grinning at Amira. "I'm doing it tonight, my dad already told me everything and how to survive so i'm sure we'll be just fine." He said, chest swelling with pride.
(LMAO Mountain Goat!?!? I can't pfft hahahahahaahhahahahaha) (Also what does Adonis look like?) Midnight lowered her head slightly "But it's hard to believe that a colt so young is getting a attitude... It must be that dreaded father of his, he must of rubbed off a shit attitude on his foal... But Sora will put him in place as he gets older." She said sounding hopeful that Adonis hopefully would become a kind and caring stallion unlike his sire, and make Sora proud. She looked over Ghost's direction when he called to the herd, she looked where the foals were and nickered to the pair before glancing at Duny "I think Sora needs alone time so we'll just leave her hear, i'll take care of Adonis for the time being, tell Ghost that she's not coming back with us" Midnight asked the champagne stallion before looking for the foals "Come you to, it's going to rain. ~~~~ Amira couldn't hide a small chuckle when Adonis sounded so confident and proud of being caught, but her ears perked forward "Ok, Same, so when ya want to try again?" She asked before hearing Midnight's call, she looked at the herd then at the colt for a moment "Aww... Playtime's over already?! Gee i can't wait to escape.." She mumbled trotting back towards the horses
Sora looked up from where she lay to the distant call of the stallion she'd befriended, not that she trusted many after, well.....nevermind. What was his name again? He looked like it, Ghost, that was his name, the brilliantly white stallion looking more of a mountain goat from the mare's perspective. She thought for a moment, deciding to stay hidden in the mountains as she stood and walked into the cover of the cave, sheltering her from the pelting rain outside. With a small sigh she lay once more, drifting off.
