| No, we don't make a habit of grabbing wild turtles lol. The last turtle mom had was a "oh shit, this turtle is in bad shape and won't survive the winter". We had a super bad summer and found a turtle in the fall that was thin/dehydrated. She got 'rescued', fed up, and released the following spring when she was fat and very sassy |

| Basically. She's not a species that's native to this particular area, so the assumption is that she came with the dirt. |
