| My brother went to highschool with a kid who came from a very poor background and also with a I don't care attitude. He was actually very smart in mathematics. But when it came to tests for credits he shrugged them off. You know what got him to do it? The teacher said she would buy him a pie. He laughed and said yeah go on then. He scored highly 2nd in his class. |

| Genetics imo only really determine the total capability. If you want a jumper, odds are jumpers doing well will have good conformation and athletic ability for it. But as soon as they're out kf the womb, everything comes down to history, mental aptitude, physicality, and training. I mean just look at abused horses. Most of them blossom when removed from that environment in spite of the remaining scars; many even overcome and excel in whatever job they do because some have that attitude and mental fortitude to do something they find joy in after a traumatic experience But they don't get there without the nurturing |

| All I say is factors, there’s too many to list. Each person, horse is different. Some do have talents that can’t be explained. Takes special circumstances sometimes to find and get that person/horse up to par. If we all had special circumstances we’d all be excelling at the highest level we could achieve. |
