I just use Microsoft word. Make a table with the number of columns you need for whatever information you want to include for each horse or match (mare, stud, price, items, color, etc) then each mare gets their own row

I find that pigeons aren't really 'all up in your face' kinds of birds, not when they have a partner at least.
All of mine happily sit near/on me, but for the most part, their partner is their sole source for companionship :)
