I've yet to find a fly spray that get rid of them and the only thing that seems to work is a hand. Unfortunately, it's a 50/50 chance that they'll explode :| |

Haha Min 😂 it sounds like your have your ponies’ best considerations at heart, which is all that matters |

I'm much more into the idea of a fully hogged and clipped out cob than I used to be. I think that came with realising the difference between grooming them sometimes and having sole responsibility for their upkeep lol |

They have a pretty painful bite. I’ve been bitten by one and had some swelling |

Personally find hogged manes look just…. bad, but that’s purely my personal aesthetic view! Completely agree with Min re. the heat blanket though. Thank god for plaits |

We definitely get horse flies unfortunately. A friend of mine blows up like a balloon when she gets bitten- evil little fuckers. |

Hmm.. I'm not really sure how much of my old code's styles to transfer over to the changed layout |
Zomb |
I'm genuinely not a huge fan of the heavy hairy horses. But i do prefer to see them hogged |

They also create a huge blanket of trapped heat and itchiness for traditionals. Minnie still has her long mane purely for vanity reasons as her head and neck are a bit small for her body, but trying to keep her cool in the summer is a huge challenge |
The Old Gods |
manes help protect against flying insects since the bugs will typically get tangled in the mane |
