Void that's what I was imagining

Dusty, exactly! I went to a classical school and had to read numerous books that are no longer politically correct and it was so we could learn why treating others like that was so problematic
MellowMares
Brooke, thank you!! ^_^ i find it stressful because ive never really been in this position before.. im *abit* of a job hopper but mostly because of having to move / finding better work closer to home , or ive been recruited.. so its weird to have 2 options to weigh out and i need a job like.. yesterday xD

Wild I think it's important to recognize history and how normalized racism was, so we can learn from it. What book is it?
MellowMares
sorry @brooke and @sunny for the advice xD @wild you could prob report it ??? id think? idk we never really had book reports at my school :')

I felt that. At my last job, it took them a couple of days to write up and email a job offer to me which I think I accepted within the 24hrs of getting it, as I think I had to respond within a certain amount of time
MellowMares
cause worst case i can always ask job 1 for the work contract and ask for some time to think about it ? like i dont need to accept the job on the spot / at the interview lol youd think i would be more used to this by now lol am not xD
CarterStables
It never hurts to go to an interview, besides you may find something out about job 1 that makes it more appealing than job 2, or something that definitely excludes it from being somewhere you want to work

I swere I don't know how they let them read this. my friends ela class is reading a book that has the n word over 200 times. its banned at most schools I think. but like....why
CarterStables
I'd go to the interview for job 1 while waiting to hear something back from job 2. If you don't hear anything from job 2 by the end of this week, I'd do a friendly follow up with them on Monday. I've got an interview in-person tomorrow & I had to follow up to get a response from the job regarding a phone and in-person interview but it sounds like there's not many employees there as of yet & a lot of work, thus why I had to follow up.

just say "I'm currently waiting on another job I'll get back to you ASAP"
MellowMares
so sorry for the word vomit lol xD ive just never really been in this situation lol
MellowMares
i applied to two companies, both with their own perks, job 2 i definently want more then then job 1, BUT im not sure which one will be hiring faster, job 1 ill need 2 weeks of un paid traning, which ... isnt ideal, but im making just enough money on the side to keep most bills paid ... whereas job 2 is right in town, more hours, seems like more guranteed work , but i wont be able to work for myself anymore / as much which is totally fine, its work i can do over the weekends .... 1 has already contacted me to schedual an interview and 2 says theyll get back to me by end of week to schedual an interview, they just have to speak to HR or something prior to being able to, but it seemed promising... i want job 2 more, closer to home, more hours ... i just dont know what to say to job 1 INCASE job 2 falls through? like how would you professionally go about saying something along the lines of " i need this job but i want another one more, just waiting to hear back from them" im also a huge people pleaser which is a problemmmm
