The whips they use in TB racing are foam, I highly highly doubt that they caused any bleeding, shit ive been whipped with them before and they dont hurt

theres been a ton of studies showing that starting them earlier at around 2 actually makes for stronger bones joints ect, but horses retiring early is not specific to race horses, and a large chunk of them continue on racing with chuckwagons or doing other high impact sports

I’ve got an OTTB and still have his old racing videos in which he was whipped around the entire field and after the races you could see blood. Never able to trust racing after seeing that

As for standing around for photographers shes only the second? Woman to win the Melbourne cup so its expected that people are going to want fresh off the win pictures, I would assume that was on the way to the winners circle or whatever the aussie equivalent is, if the horse wasn't labored breathing and the blood wasn't coming from the nose and wasn't *pouring* out I probably wouldn't be to stressed about it either

Considering how young they start racing them, the mental and physical trauma they go through, how young they retire, and how many die each year, I dont think the 'big dogs' care too much lol

I mean 9 outta 10 times what you see as the "behind the scenes" is just a wow factor to get a reaction

trish I know, yet there's always those who don't and you'll see the race on TV and be like 'oh wow, awesome' then you see the behind the scenes and its just... something else sometimes (not all the time though)

Theres plenty of people who race horses that care about their horses
RFS Thoroughbreds
only in another world do people race and actually care about their horses and not abuse them
KPH Equestrian
And i hate how shittily tight racehorses bits almost always are. Even when theres no pressure on the reins the bit is still acting on the mouth

Geek -Click- Its absolutely ridiculous. Why are we standing around for photographers??

Unfortunately, my facebook reels is nothing but horses. I need to click on more AI slop stuff. At least the AI slop is amusing versus the horse reels usually make me want to reach through my monitor and slap someone upside the head.

Rapcoon I'd have done told them the fuck off, and if I had supported them (Which I NEVER will), I would've pulled my support right then and there.
The Joker
I think it's meant to give them discretion over things like blood from a flybite/mosquito bite etc. as long as it doesn't extend past those sorts of things and the ground jury have strong standards of welfare I think it will be ok
