I got my first black chestnut, it's so pretty -HEE Click- |
Summer Ranch |
Me telling myself only wc combo mares can stay in my barn but I find an EEE mare just sitting around... Oh well, she produced my first EWE / wc combo so i'll have to see how she trains and produces |
Oakmoss Stud |
-HEE Click- I did breed this girl yesterday which I'm fairly pleased with for day 1! c: |
Oakmoss Stud |
I'll keep a handful of the 'better' (in relative terms) broodmares but I'll aim to build the gelding collection otherwise I'll just end up breeding them lol, just in case I get lucky. |
ArcticLights |
If you dont want to be tempted breeding them yourself geldings solve that issue :) |

Another option that I prefer for my sides is a show army of broodmares. They don't train quite as fast but they do well enough, and you get the extra on top for the broods every year |
ArcticLights |
Yeah. Or you can use mares for dual brood/show purposes but both options work |
Summer Ranch |
I mean hunting is fun but I don't really like deer so I just give the meat to a friend who loves them. He likes hunting aswell and takes me with him XD |
Oakmoss Stud |
Ceci, thank you, that feels like the best option to not lose all my money immediately :') generally a string of geldings because they train up faster, right? |
ArcticLights |
And dont fall into the trap of breeding insane amounts of matches |
Minerva |
Never understood deer hunting. I get it if you needed food of course, but that's what farms are for |
ArcticLights |
Oak, I will recommend to have a good showstring going first. Good breeding stock is not cheap and good mares are rarely sold |
