Dogs pretend to be happy. |

Elf, I have done the same thing. Performed surgery and then had to put down around 6-7 months later. But thing was in my dogs case vet and I could not predict that the cancer tumours returned so quickly |
SandWitch Arabians |
I would wish my family would put me down, if that was what my life was like. Can't imagine not being able to move around on my own any more and laying in my own shit. |
Fairytale Paints |
I'm just leery, I've spent 1k+ for emergency surgery on a senior dog, only to put her down 6 months later |

I dont know anything about DM, are there medicines or treatment for it? |
Fairytale Paints |
She's not unhappy, she still eats and drinks. She just can't physically get up or walk on her own. So she goes potty and lays in it unfortunately |
ArcticLights |
True. Sometimes an animal deserves a second chance if the possibility of quality life is high |
Fairytale Paints |
AL, This vet has a particular habit of talking owners into doing more when the animal should be put to sleep. I'm not against treatment for her, but yes I have to take into consideration she's also 13 |
Fairytale Paints |
Australian Shepherd cross. She is showing signs of degenerative myelopathy |
ArcticLights |
Sorry to hear that Elf but sometimes its best for the animal to do more. Even if its heartbreaking for us as owners |
Fairytale Paints |
A little anxious taking my 13 year old dog into the vet, she's no longer able to get up and stand on her own, her back legs she's having issues with. I honestly just want some blood work done but I'm worried they're going to try to talk me into doing more. I'm highly suspicious she's had a stroke |
