Merlin was a big, shaky, cuddly beast. But he'd freak out at even the slightest hint of rain, too, so I ended up just giving him the ultimate safe spot. He looooved that closet |

My dog isn't too anxious. He mostly just wants to be snuggled and petted to feel reassured. |

Eury, That's usually my concern with mortars in neighbourhoods. I couldn't have them in Colorado, but I can here. Went through the effort, as mentioned, to get a launch dock so I can have some fun tomorrow. We're planning on taking the jet skis and such to the lake and celebrating there with the big stuff tomorrow. No other homes, wide open space, water for anything burning to land in. |

The only thing that did end up helping him was to find some cheap soundproofing and soundproof a closet. It ended up being the "pet closet" where I'd put the nervous babies in with some toys, treats, and peaceful silence |

Yeah, the way things are with the terrain, the fireworks tend to echo. Cats aren't bothered by things, at least. |
Boulder Creek |
It already smelled like a wildfire yesterday at the barn - wonder how many fire incidents are going to be reported tomorrow. Severe drought and so much dead growth waiting for a spark. And the shelters inundated with lost animals. Not sure if the anxiety medication has worked on the horses yet, but they need it fast. Several hours to go and there's lots of booms already. New Years and the Fourth - absolutely dreaded days. Hope my vet friends are able to find solace tonight. |

Eve, I tried the thundershirt on Merlin before he passed. I used it consistently through thunderstorms, fireworks, etc. and it never worked. He'd still shake and whimper and hide in corners. |

My dog isn't too happy right now. He wants to lay in my lap. Has anyone tried thundershirt for dogs and did it work? |

I try to find a good middle ground, where I'm not shaking homes and damaging rooftops, while also being able to have some time to enjoy the night Just, some people are big grouchy I suppose |
Versailles |
Ahhh. Yeah... I can understand the mortars being uncomfortable. Or the screechy ones. I tend to cover my ears for those, otherwise my ears twinge in juuuust the right way to be obnoxious. I launch mortars over the lake, though. No rooftops to land on there, and FAR fewer people. |
The Old Gods |
I'm in the middle of about 5 different people who're shooting off mortars |
Versailles |
They're... Not firecrackers, nor mortars. It's hardly an issue. They barely leave the ground |
