| I made applesauce the other day so I took the cores/peels and added some cinnamon and sugar. Topped it with no sugar added apple juice instead of water and just let it simmer away |

| @Gem, well enough. And no, probably not a good idea to fast since my body doesn't use energy efficiently and I'm constantly eating something to give it something to work with. Not eating = light headed and dizzy. It's all tied to an autoimmune issue from what my doctors can figure out. |

| BDS Fating is completely optional for those who are pregnant, breast feeding, ill, and in some cases on their period :) I have multiple chronic illnesses but choose to fast because it helps me feel more connected to God <3 |

| No problem Witchy! I'm also Catholic but a 51 hour fast sounds like absolute torture. I've been working out more recently and I couldn't even make it from lunch to dinner without a snack today 😂 |

| @BDS Yeah I completely understand how that makes everything much harder by itself. I definitely don't think fasting would be recommended on top of that. I hope you're doing well though! |

| Meh. I suffer enough from health problems. No desire to do any voluntary suffering here to pile on top of it. More power to everyone who believes this necessary, though. |

| It honestly was super quick. I'd recommend flattening out all of the dough and then just rapid fire filling and rolling. It took maybe 10 minutes to get all of them filled and then into the oven |

| @BDS It has to do with intentionally undergoing some amount of suffering in order to be able to offer that up to God. Catholics (and most Christians) because that Jesus suffered and died for us so this is a way to unite us to Him and strengthen our faith :) Which is also why some people choose to give up certain things for the entire period of Lent |

| Gem xD It's not anything super special. I took pre-made biscuit dough, cut in half and flattened. I then mixed together softened cream cheese and cinnamon/sugar until incorporated. I then put 2-3 tsp of filling into biscuits and rolled into balls making sure the filling didn't come out (I sealed the edges and then rolled). Rolled in cinnamon sugar and drizzled butter/cinnamon/brown sugar over top before baking for 18 mins |
