According to the game guide, member shows will not have ghost horses and will pay out the top half of the class. So if only 1 or 2 horses are entered, I imagine they'd take 1st and 2nd and make a profit.

Wolf If there are two entries, the winner will get the entry fee + half of what the other person paid to enter. Second place gets half their entry fee back. It trickles down on winnings as more people enter.
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.
