Alright my neighbor can put his leaf blower away any time now. I've been listening to it for the past four hours. |

I think conventions are your best bet: if you get one and haven’t held one, been around one or let one interact with you. I think it’ll make things worse and then the snake could get stressed out. I don’t think it’s wise to get one just to get over a fear - like Angel said earlier they aren’t a short term thing they do live fairly long and need just as much care as a dog or cat. |

Stella, I'm not interested in geckos / lizards. I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone |

My aunt has some geckos and a bearded dragon that I love to play with lol, so i'm already used to lizards / geckos |

Conventions should do. Personally I think you should start with a lizard if you’re wanting a reptile but scared of snakes. Unless you’re scared of them. |

Stella, that's what im planning on doing in the future before I purchase one, just to get me used to holding them (If the people let me) |

But you also have to consider it could make your fear worse and then you’re stuck with a snake that you have to feed and tend to which you won’t be able to due to the fear! So definitely definitely get to some conventions to try and battle it before getting one. |

Stella, I think it's just a small fear, I don't really think it's a phobia |
BlackRose |
Snow, is it a phobia or just a small fear of them? If so it might be worth while getting a lizard to get yourself comfortable with the reptile feel |

Im only getting a snake that's beginner friendly and doesn't look like it wants to kill me lol. I'll go for a cute, small snake so I don't get a tiny heart attack every time i look at it |
