spring,
urgh i hate it , makes it so much harder to re train them after because all they know is stress after an experience like that . dont get me wrong, you absolutely can get alot of training done in 30-60 days, but flooding doesnt stick long term. my mare had a year off and i was able to hop on her bb in a halter in the field on a super cold windy winter day and she did great xD

Mellow,
That's kinda similar to how my filly was 'started', minus the tranq. We got her from horse traders and they just roped her, saddled her, and rode her. I've had her coming 2 months and I'm just starting to sack her out with a saddle pad, and shes still terrified until I get it on her. She's also got some weird thing about touching her ears that obviously happened with them.

another one (reg stables, not an advertised training or selling farm) sold a dead lame horse as a trail horse but buted the crap out of the poor mare before the guy showed up for the viewing :')

ouff yea some of the colt starting places are horrible.. worked for one that would tranq some of the colts to make it easier to saddle instead of just doing the proper ground work :(( didnt work their long lol

Not sure it was even hobble training, since the place advertised themselves as a colt starting service

oof my old instructor used to do that. I never understood the point of why she did it. The horse was perfectly fine beforehand and than it was 'we're going to try something new today'
The Old Gods

Yeah, horse wasn't used to it, per mom, and was pretty much just spinning around and trying to kick. Tip of the horse's hoof is probably a good foot off the gound

12:17:45
oh i love monty roberts!! he had a really tough time when he was first coming out with his traning publicly, lots of back lash from other cowboys and even threats .. if only they knew hed be training the queens horses years later xD

Void,
that's how a lot of people (at least where I am) teach horse to pick up their hooves, since they don't want to get hurt. I don't agree with it very much though, because that's what some horse traders did with my current filly and now she just bangs her hooves up for me to clean them :/

I understand hobbies, but that could train if done right. But the horse has to be used to things before just doing that

Looping a rope around a horse's leg and neck so the leg's pulled off the ground

Kinda going what against what your saying mellow... But I actually train by tradition, but its really a different type of tradition. It's a mix of how Monty Roberts trained and partly how the vaqueros did and do. A lot of pressure and release
Bioshock Manor

Which way Eury

Yeah, this particular method looks like a good way to break a leg
