On the genetic one, I agree. My dad is dealing with severe depression, and unfortunately passed that on to me. Yayyy! Oh and ADD-ADHD and OCD.
The Old Gods
I finally got put on two meds that legitly helps. I'm the happiest I've been in the past 32 years (diagnosed at 5 with depression). That's a very long time to be unhappy.

Eury Damn well maybe I'm just fucked for life than since a life change was my hope. Nice

Void - Yes! Exactly. Sometimes they are just shit. Sometimes it’s a genetic predisposition out of our control. I think that’s why it’s important to deviate between the two so we address them in their respective ways.

Shi - I agree. It is a vast expanse of unknowns whether being patient caused or otherwise. It’s a complicated effort to try and do the best for someone while knowing so little.
The Old Gods

Void - The other point I would also agree with however, is that we know that if we supply the brain with storebought chemicals, it will stop making its own, which is equally dangerous. So while it can be used to our advtange I believe it must be used in moderation. Because the coping mechanisms as you said will not work afterward if the brain is now unable to produce them.
