We found a baby magpie that had broken it's neck when we were kids and insisted on it being buried with a funeral service. Midway through said service Mum asked if it had a name and my brother very solemnly said "Floppy" xD I think trying not to laugh at that was quite tricky for her lol. Not as tricky a parenting moment as a few days later when he came in covered in mud and when she asked him what he'd been doing said "I was checking on Floppy". Reburial was without a second funeral though

*Pulls a roast out of the freezer for dinner to thaw* Its the hampster they forgot about that died.. years ago. Oops

He had died and they frozen him to stay good until the next bin collection day

I remember my friend had a pet guinea pig who died and her parents told her it went to a happy home. Fast forward years later she found it in the chest freezer

Porridge the hamster went into the bin when I was living in Gloucester as a student. Knobhead the hamster died at home though so Mum did bury him- I said either was fine by me as long as I didn't have to be a witness and she couldn't make herself put him in there xD
