That might just be one to wait patiently until you have your own place for lol

10000% hence why it never happened as she declined and I respected it :) I also knew if we did go and she was to even be outside and not be comfortable we would’ve went straight home on her say so - that’s also why I didn’t get a tarantula as I knew she wasn’t comfortable (even though she agreed to me having one) but when things are put into reality - they can have different outcomes and I didn’t want to get one and have her be uncomfortable when it’s actually in the house

We have snakes and spiders in my household. My father is really afraid of both and when they come over I am respectful of that and keep it in mind when bringing anything out of terrariums to let my sister and mother see or handle.

Just keep the spider in your room and out of the common areas. I have a snake, and my brother lives with me and is scared of snakes. I keep everyone separate.

As someone who breeds arachnids, and who used to have a phobia of them. I can say, exposure is great to get over fears...but for one, starting out small is best. Jumping spiders, letting people see them and all that. Two you dont want to force someone to do something as stressful as a convention full of animals theyre afraid of. Thats counter intuitive and not going to go well. Also forcing someone to get over their fears is not how you go about helping them. They have to be open minded to the idea of exposing themselves to something theyre afraid of...or else its not going to do anything but cause more trauma

I wasn’t trying to cure the phobia… moreso just get her comfortable with the idea of seeing one and such. Especially if one was going to be in the house…
BlackRose
Plus I was going to get one (with her permission of course) and I didn’t want to bring it into the house until she was comfortable with them and the only best was I thought would be a convention where she could see them and possibly learn a bit about them etc. I didn’t wanna bring it into the house and her actually seeing and knowing it’s in the house and not be comfortable in the house

He just wasn't comfortable with her and I didn’t fuss. She is just under six feet
BlackRose
To somewhat show her that they aren’t as bad as she thinks. If she sees them on their containers or in something she wouldn’t be as freaked out etc
BlackRose
I wanted to take my mother (who’s scared of spiders) to an arachnids convention

I need sympathy. For the second Christmas in a row I am sick. This is so unfair.
