Yeah, you said that earlier Ivy. Lol

Ahh well you'll be grand then! Ive never had a lesson plan- just gone off vibes and always had a really positive response. Personally id start with something basic and see how she does, then build based on that. Lots of slow work doing steering and control exercises is always good with kids that are maybe slightly loose cannons as it distracts them 🤣

Ahh yeah I can see why that would be anxiety-inducing lol. At least you have the benefit of knowing exactly what your horse likes and responds to! I used to do a lot of 1-1 with super nervous and/or SEN kids and I found just keeping it lighthearted and doing little bits of lots of things worked best rather than spending the whole time on one aspect- I assume it would be similar for a more confident one. Its pretty easy to pick up what's working and what isnt though so you can just play it by ear. Just be warned- its never the kids that are the issue- its the bloody parents

Do a lot of walk/trot (maybe a little canter at the end, possibly on lunge line). Y'all are trying to figure each other out, so I think the first lesson should be about evaluation. Especially since she's on your baby haha

Term??

Cali
First couple of lesson balance and ground work. Then maybe, if you can see progress pole work. And keep it going for like a few weeks. Then, if she8s already REALLY confident with poles, lifted poles. I think that a good way to put her back into riding₽
