What Void said. Plus my thoughts. There are also some amazing breeders, who have great, well cared for, well bred dogs |

Thank you! He was on the at risk list of being euthanized. Im so glad we adopted him @Hazard |
The Old Gods |
Mom tried to adopt about 10 years ago. Rescue wanted vet info (ok, fine), financial info, number of animals, ability to just show up unannounced for inspections, and ultimately declined mom for having too many animals. Duh. Hobby farm. |

Paddy would probably slit my throat if someone promised him a bit of cheese but that's ok |

Norm's only little but he makes a good guard dog. A bit too good most of the time lol, I'm trying to get him to chill out a bit |
Jericho Stables |
I've also been looking at GSD breeders and some of them have requirements in line with rescues. It's just been a very frustrating process. |
The Old Gods |
It's typically cheaper and less hassle to just buy an animal than going through a rescue |
Fairy Valley Stables |
Jericho Absolutely and I used to work at a shelter (I'm in New Zealand). So many of the requirements are absurd and beyond what the average person who could offer an amazing home could reach |
MakeEm Fancy |
This is my shepherd mix. He is very very loyal but is 100% an escape artist lol -Click- |
The Feral Equine |
I agree Jericho! I worked for a humane society for a while and I was unable to adopt cause I had an intact female dog because I chose to do a delayed spay |
Nolified |
Ally, I know right?! They'll kind of be my guard dogs when I live alone and when i'm outside and alone (Im a female so I planning on getting 2 female Dobermans and 2 males. |
Jericho Stables |
Rescues need to make adoption more accessible. Just saying. I've been looking since I lost my girl, and it hasn't been easy. And I'm sorry, any shelter that requires medical information of my children needs to be closed. Some of the requirements are absolutely outlandish. |
MakeEm Fancy |
I would rather rescue than buy from a breeder. So many dogs in need. Dobermans are fun! @Hazard |
SwankPony |
I love a purebred, but there so many doggos in need home I can't bring myself to buy from a breeder. I yell at my uncle all the time... because if he doesn't think his puppies end up in shelters.. he is delusional. |
