| I tried to reconnect with my mother when I became a mother but there's no getting over the past she won't apologize for, and she won't change her behavior toward me or work on it in a productive manner, so I'm estranged from my entire bio family and have been for about seven years now |

| seriously though! my parents thankfully mellowed out with old age. I try to not hold resentment and still be active in their lives. my step dad didn't chill until he got cancer(he beat it thankfully) which, sucks to have to learn a hard way, but glad at the same time or else he would have been a miserable drunk forever. |

| I didn’t really rebel as much as many of my friends did as anything I did really reflected on my father so I had to be a good kid. |

| I was always told I had a normal childhood, but hearing how other people spent their childhood made me realized I had a lot of challenges other kids didn't. Sure, it could have been worse, but people tell me I'm lucky because given the circumstances I should have ended up a drug addict. |

| also being an adult and looking back makes you realize even more how insane your childhood was like how did my mother feel ok doing that?? and why did nobody intervene? ill never understand it lol and cant go back and change it but i can make sure its not repeated! |
