@Grimm, being a single parent is hard. Mostly because of the sacrifices you have to make so your child can thrive. It sounds like you are doing everything you can which is the hallmark of a good mother.
I grew up with racist and controlling parents. I always told my kids if you are happy, I am happy for you. I asked my mom last year, she is 80, if I came home and said I was in love with another woman would she accept it, mind you I was 57, she said she would have disowned me.
