Love a TB! My friend bought a 4yo gelding a few months before I bought Minnie and he made me really consider changing my mind about what I wanted. Then she came up for sale and I've known her since a yearling so I couldn't not bring her home. The TB ended up on 3 months box rest not long after that after a field accident and was an absolute nightmare to deal with during the in hand walking stage so I was happy to stick to welshies when I was looking for Ted |

Well the beat thing to do is to enter and compete in the areas you wish to one day judge. Lots and lots of experience in competing. Read and understand ALL the rules. Talk to other judges, ask if you can shadow them as a ringmaster, but you have to let them talk if and when they want to, and not badger them with chatter and questions. Go to judging certification clinics. I suggest starting with ones geared towards local all breed shows. Volunteer at shows, help show management in any way you can or they need. A judge needs lots of knowledge within the entire system in order to work with not only competitors, but management |
