| Curious as well. My town has two vet clinics, and neither has any after-hour care, nor are they open on weekends. If you have an emergency you have to drive an hour away to another state |

| @Aralynn, I'm curious what country are you in? I don't own a horse, but am part of local facebook groups and a big complaint is a lack of vets willing to take emergencies. |

| Hey Rose, Im a vet albeit not an equine one. Not sure where in the world you are but most countries vets legally have to provide out of hours services. If your vet doesnt then another vet should be covering the area, even if you have to haul to them. Have you given any pain relief? |

| I lost two parents at a young age and I get it. It fucking sucks and you want to hold onto everything. But the horse doesn't understand that, it only understands suffering |

| As someone who's had to put down 2 horses. It's better a day TOO soon than a day too late. Personally, I'd call the vet. As Void said, most vets do offer payment plans. It's not fair for the horse to suffer in pain, regardless of its the last thing you have from your dad. As bad as that may sound. When it comes to horses being in pain, we cannot be selfish, we must put their needs above our emotional needs. |
