$11? That’s wild. I think it is $3.19 in my little town and $3.39 in the town I work in.
Red Hill Hollow
I have not, I’ve only been to the US twice when I was younger. I’ll have to have a look
Gaelic Gladiacres
red - yep. ...actually have you ever seen a US suburb map. it's uh. mm. literally designed not to be pedestrian friendly....
Red Hill Hollow
Seriously? I would not be able to get around without the busses. I can’t drive and fuel is ridiculously expensive here. It works out to about $11 per gallon in US dollars
The Feral Equine
I live in a suburb and I honestly couldn't tell you where a bus stop is
Gaelic Gladiacres
red - yeaaaaaaah most of the developed world is league above US public transport.......it's why uber and lyft are so lucrative
Red Hill Hollow
Ooo ok! I will do myth :) I’ve got nothing else to do this week haha
Dire Wolf
Even the closet bus stop to me is 2 hours away at the capital of the state I live in. Crazy how it’s different around the world.
Red Hill Hollow
There’s even busses that travel into somewhat rural parts of qld, but they don’t run as often, maybe 3x per day
Red Hill Hollow
That’s so crazy to hear. The bus and public transport systems are super accessible in Aus. Here in Brisbane we have buses and trains that run every 15 mins and go basically everywhere. It’s only 50c per ride too. In other cities I know they have trams as well
Gaelic Gladiacres
khaos - yep angel - we've got a fair number of logistics trains around here, and in fact I think I've only ever lived in one place in this state that I couldn't hear a midnight train whistle at least once a month <3 one of my favorite sounds
Angels angels
All of the trains around here are just carrying cargo through. Zero train station here
Red Hill Hollow
Myth I’m into a bunch of different genres, I’m watching the Pitt at the moment. But some of my favourites are Shameless, Supernatural, greys anatomy, mostly just basic teen girl shows. I haven’t matured my taste since then lol so I need to expand my horizons. Most US tv shows are hard to access in Aus tho
The Feral Equine
I have a train system near me that runs through the national park but its only for like recreational rides and such not actual travel
Gaelic Gladiacres
red - ahyup. the major cities might have subways (underground trains) or even commuter trains (metro, some other names for them) above ground buuuut yeah. bus routes are also terrible (and more common). iiiiiit's. terrible people have been trying so hard to advocate for improving public transit but because the states are all their own little sovereign areas and the fed prefers keeping people reliant on gas... yeah
