cuco I feel you there, we've got a number of young horses we're bringing up that really need moving because we just cannot keep up with all of them and the farm chores and the maintenance and and and... it's a slow process unfortunately
The Old Gods
I'll stick to being a realist. Zrek: Rocky's doing better. He was a fine boned youngster (arab cross that was 14 hands or so) being ridden by a 200+ guy with a 30 pound western saddle 🙃
El Cuco
Gladius, he's big enough and I'm small enough that I can start him on the basics, but anything I'd like to do long term would be too harsh on him, so finding a good kid is %100 the best bet. As much as I'd be fine with him just laying around doing nothing in the pasture for forever, my dad is paying for his upkeep, so I'm sure he'd appreciate if I can get him off of his hands lol.

zrek - right? doing and volunteering at an equitherapy place really opened my eyes to the rider issues that translate into horse struggles
E.T. Eventing
Gladius - Townend shouldn't even be riding. He clearly has severe emotional regulation issues if he feels the need to beat a horse through a round.
E.T. Eventing
Myth - up and down. I have been doing better generally but on and off still having emotional pains about the future. Just scared of going into a world that might take away my soul again and it's difficult to calm down when I see no way out. What about you?

there's a balance to be struck, void. yes there are too many cases of horses being overfaced (I honestly don't think Cooley Roselent should've been doing 5 star at 9 based on what I saw at MD 5* but what do I know) but two things can be true at once: possibilities are endless, and there are too many who ignore the dangers and damages in the name of that
The Old Gods
I volunteered for a therapeutic riding place for mentally and physically disabled people. It was pretty common for people to dump off their broken down show horses for the tax write off
Tanglewood
-HEE Click- Clinging on to the ABLB, but an ABLB debut at least!

yeah training ponies is a tough prospect, since you need such a small rider but one who's confident and knowledgeable to give them the miles they need
The Old Gods
...Yeah. I've seen too many horses broken down for the "anything is possible" mentality.
El Cuco
Those kind of long lasting problems is exactly why I'm trying to baby-proof one of our ponies so I can lease or sell him to someone smaller than me, probably a kid. Would hate to see chronic pain or anything of the sort just because he's too small for me.
Gaelic Gladiacres
cuco awwwww, yeah forever homes are so important <3 we had one have basically a stroke and we're working on getting him the best care we can, it was super scary but he's doing incredible and such a little puppy personality
