same way noone questions gelding stallions, its so widely accepted that if they have the money to put into the surgery noones gonna question doing it.

we have declined spaying/neutering if it was not in the animal's best interest to do so
Morning Glory Farms
do you question when you spay/neuter a dog/cat/rat ect ect ect?
Morning Glory Farms
laparoscopic ovariectomy is minimally invasive, so I would bet theres vets out there that would do it without a question

I don't think a vet would just spay a horse for no good reason....whether or not the owner is a whack job or not
Pegasus Lane
I have met one spayed mare, and she was a neurotic mess lol Apparently better than before but honestly? Who knows.. her owner was a whack job
The Old Gods
Yeah, that's a potential side effect of spaying. I'm basically having to play things by ear with her because there's, apparently, no long term studies on spayed mares.

I think because my girl is a mustang that she has pretty great socialization skills with other horses atleast. If she's ever moody it mainly just makes her more go than woah under saddle and a little jumpy/extra if anything. She gets along with just about any horse but not every horse likes her.
