Well the beat thing to do is to enter and compete in the areas you wish to one day judge. Lots and lots of experience in competing. Read and understand ALL the rules. Talk to other judges, ask if you can shadow them as a ringmaster, but you have to let them talk if and when they want to, and not badger them with chatter and questions. Go to judging certification clinics. I suggest starting with ones geared towards local all breed shows. Volunteer at shows, help show management in any way you can or they need. A judge needs lots of knowledge within the entire system in order to work with not only competitors, but management |
