I just got finished entering
Nightingales Ridge
Oh shivers I need to enter shows ugh I'm too tired. I've been logging on to explore and that's it lol
Minerva
Mine's entered a grand total of 3 today xD I knew I'd come to regret giving her 400 EEEs at the same training level lol
Whitewolf
When your money drains with every click you make - yep barn manager is entering horses XD
MakeEm Fancy
My chiweenie and my blue heeler are nightmares when it comes to trimming. I manage though lol
Kaldwin Stud
I started off with a rubber lickimat covered in peanut butter and I would suction it to my shower wall to distract the dog while I dremeled his nails. That kept him too busy to fight me while he got used to it. Now I can basically just grab his feet and do it wherever, he might try to step away or pull his feet a little but he's pretty cooperative overall. And he knows he'll get a big chewy prize when it's done, like a trachea, pig ear, or beef cheek roll

I hate doing nails- I'm always terrified I'll cut too much or they'll move at a shit time
Sforzando
same here tano, once upon a time i used to trim nails like it was no big deal. now i cry every time i get close to quicking mine HAHA
Sylvan Lake Stables
I'm also paranoid of quicking nails despite working as a dog groomer in the past. So I dremel my dog's nails. If I try to clip them it's like wrestling a gator, he expresses his anal glands, nobody's happy. But with the dremel he stands still and lets me do it, and I can get right down to the quick with no risk of cutting it, and then I can round the nail off instead of leaving a sharp point as well. I'm the biggest advocate for dremeling nails on any dog who will tolerate it

I'd 100% say take her to a professional for at least her first time then if you're not confident doing them. Or just spend a little bit of time each day working on filing them down a little at a time. Alternatively (and I don't know if this is actually good advice or not but it works for me) if there's anywhere with a big slab of concrete you can play lots of tug of war and fetch on, they'll wear down on that. I think I've only cut Paddy's claws once in two years because he spends all his time zipping about in the warehouse yanking things about
Gaelic Gladiacres
yeah, dark nails are tricky. best have a vet do it especially if she doesn't like her feet touched. then you can work on getting her comfortable with her feet until the next time she needs a trim
Transformers Acres
Molly HATES having her feet touched, and she's solid black, aside from a white spot on her chest.
Gaelic Gladiacres
and hopefully the vet/vet tech can make it a good experience for her. bring treats!
Minerva
Or honestly just take her to the vet or a groomer and ask them to do it- they'd be quite happy to and then you've got some peace of mind then
