Another thing you could attempt is taking her to a dog park. She could learn a thing or two if she’s there on a regular basis interacting and learning from older and other dogs.

Maybe a dog wasnt the best choice. They require consistent discipline patience and training from everyone in the house not just 1 person
BlackRose
06:44:02 Stella
Do you have any other dogs around her?

He's just not a dog person in general. He'll pet and hold them, sure, but anything else, except getting necessities for them? Fat chance.
Wisteria Run Farm
06:42:26 Solar/Ria
she's a puppy, Geek. that's what they do as they're learning, especially with things they don't like. it's important, though, so you'll have to be able to handle listening to her carry on until she learns

Fat chance of that happening. He's not a dog person, but he wants to bitch about how I handle her, but yet, he won't help train her, he won't pay for her to get professionally trained. No idea what he wants from me.

I feel like your dad wasn’t ready for a puppy to be brought into the apartment. (This isn’t against you. That’s a HIM issue) but he also sounds like he’s going to make it 10c harder
BlackRose
06:41:09 Stella
She’s barking and carrying on because she knows you’ll come back
The Undercity
06:40:58 Dory
It sounds like you need to get your dad on board with training because if you dont then it could be worse for the dog
The Feral Equine
06:40:54 Khaos
Best advice is get your dad ear plugs and get the puppy a crate and a Kong and let her learn

Honestly, her brother, Max, who's my brother's dog, is better behaved. I try to leave her alone, but all she does is whine, and bark, and carry on.

A week, or a little longer.

Khaos

Yeah, I tried. She hates it, my dad yells at me, even though I literally WATCH her.

Honestly if she’s with you 24/7 she may develop separation anxiety which will cause real issues for both you and the dog. She may need her own space to learn to somewhat be on her own and cope for a few hours on her own
Wisteria Run Farm
06:39:31 Solar/Ria
she might also be starting to get separation anxiety, which is another good reason to work with being able to leave her alone

Last night, I went to go get dinner, and left my pup in my room. Mind you, door was open, she had food, water, a clean puppy pad, etc. I wasn't gone a minute, she starts howling and barking. My dad started yelling at ME, just because I left her in there. Well, sorry I went to get food!

I've seen pretty decent crates (they may need cleaning) at second stores for pretty affordable prices.
The Feral Equine

Use a leash and tying the dog to a safe anchor point
I will give them a bed to learn to chill and then let them sort it out and when the chill they get rewarded
Wisteria Run Farm

we had to deal with our boy as a pup with leash training, where he would literally throw screaming tantrums if he didn't get to go where he wanted lol as in, neighbors would be looking out their doors to see if we were killing him XD

you have to be patient and firm
BlackRose
06:37:26 Stella
Definitely look into distraction balls. Work with different treats… she may just be fussy with treats. How long have you had her?
The Undercity
06:37:26 Dory
What puck said. It could also be she is under stimulated I have always had active dog breeds and if you give them a job it is better for them in the long run
