At least I have some time now as I have taken the last 3 days of October off and don't have to go to work until Monday. But I also don't want to spend all Halloween on HEE either.
Santana Rising
I was struggling too when I joined in 2013. But then I figured it out 'my own way' and never had an empty bank account in here since. And when I came back in 2021 after my hiatus I picked up the habits I still remembered and it has been going nicely so far. The only problem I have is too many mares unbred by the end of the month!

San, thank you that’s so interesting and helpful. I’m in the process of building up my showing herd (around 200 right now) but they are all youngsters so will take a while before they are doing great work haha 🤠

Icurrently show level 5 to level 9,the lower ones have time to train up in peace. But for showing newcomers I always suggest starting training your own stock and even level 1 profit is profit at first and at least doesn't lose as much entry fees as buying some high level geldings which just leveled up, then have them lose money and want to toss them into salami!

I really need to start pulling myembryos sooner. Really curious to see if I can snag some spots from the upcoming WWW wilds with decent bravery for my WWE-W PON and my WEE-W TB girl.

Ash, if you mean me, I don't own a single gelding, lol. Have no use for them. But I have a steady slew of mares (PPP+, with the PPPs and PEPs doing the most of the heavy lifting here). They are my colour breeders and my showers. The stallions pitch in too, but the girls keep my accountant happy!
Ashcroft Park Stud
Wow those are some impressive numbers. What kind of levels are your geldings?
Minerva
Thats sort of why I like it lol, the fail WEE and EEE boys beckme futurity geldings and get a chance at winning me some money lol. If my maths is correct one of my EEE boys wont get less than 2nd in the Eventing one now so he's earnt his keep!
Santana Rising
I've never tried anything futurity. That seems like too much of a lottery to me, since my planned matches mostly give me EEE/EWEs and the WW+ come from random breedings.
Minerva
Im going to be relying quite heavily on futurity payouts this year lol, although I have got a load of Straws sitting waiting so I think I can do all bar a few matches straight away, plus obviously my clump of embryos. It'll just be most of the new embryos that have to wait
Santana Rising
500 more shows to enter today and then I'm done for the month. Doing pretty alright, on #4 currently in terms of winnings this year, though that might not hold till the awards. Had to break in a few newcomer mares as the old ones passed away due to old age.

Yeah I'm about the same Dark (with BM plus about 30 futurity geldings). 150-200k entry fees and about 100-150k profit per day. Next to 0 effort involved though which makes a big difference I think. Ive just moved my sides to a Tuesday start and if it works well I think Ill do the same on here and *maybe* start hand showing again.
The Unknown
I made 100k profit on 147k of entry fees on Monday, so yeah a lot less haha. That was with 325 entries
ShiningStar Stables
They definitely help. My side accounts only have levels 2-4 and I don't make near as much over there
ShiningStar Stables
Thanks Min! It took awhile to get here, Thunda helped me figure out showing a lot as well
