My meds threw me because it's not what my body needed I think. They were treating the wrong thing

Have you heard of interstitial cystitis mellow? Would it be worth to look into that. Or is it like a confirmed uti each time?

Do you have a regular OB? When I was 18? I told my normal doctor that I want to be checked for it and she absolutely refused. Because "if you had PCOS you would have facial hair". Meanwhile I was bleeding for 1-3 months straight with 1-2 months between each "period". I had been on BC pills starting around 11 when they found a big cyst on my ovary. Yet that wasn't good enough lol

urhg, my meds they had put me on just knocked me out, id sleep for 18 hours straight at some points and my mom kept me home from school for a while , and i was like you know what, id rather learn to cope with what im feeling then just sleep this off lol

That’s good the IUD helped Dimmy :) I’m the opposite tho, I feel insane if I don’t take my meds. But everyone is different

dimmy, im pretty sure i have PCOS as well, but i cant find a doctor in my area that knows about it / can give me a diagnosis for it :')
Red Hill Hollow
That’s crazy. Glad you were able to advocate for yourself and get a second opinion <3 I hope you’re all good now

Oof meds are so tricky. I was put on ADHD meds as a kid but it turns out I had bipolar and unspecified depression linked to my PCOS that nobody ever wanted to acknowledge. Those meds made me feel the worst. I haven't had issues with depression in years after getting married and moving out. It's hard to say if it was hormonal or situational, but I also started an IUD around that time which helped with the PCOS symptoms

red, youd think :') but that was before i knew how to advocate for myself , luckily i did ask for a second opinion / see a dif doc , which they did all the testing with no issues, but i regret not reporting him and dont know what happened with him after that

I did that questionnaire thing so many times when I first started therapy... I could practically answer them all with my eyes closed
Red Hill Hollow
No they were horrible haha I can’t stand jelly beans now as an adult
MellowMares
speaking of tasting like butt.. i tried out the "pink drink" from starbucks, but made with oat milk (cause im allergic to coconut) and idk if thats what made it taste bad but damn , for such a pretty looking strawberry fruity beverage, i could cry im so disapointed lol

The PHQ-9 is a standard questionnaire. It's basically the standard to help screen patients for the possibility of depression.

Oh my god mellow. That’s insane! I’ve been begging doctors for treatments for my chronic pain. I can’t imagine they just wanted to cut into you without proper testing. Surely that’s illegal?
