san - hear hear. I show any horse, they're all potentially just as capable as any other, gelds just train faster so if you want to shoot up the ladder it's easier from what I can tell

I've been playing for nearly 16 RL years... it was only recently that I started getting WWW horses... but I'm not exactly what you would call a dedicated player.
Santana Rising
Kai, I stick to my system I developed before going on hiatus (2013 - 2015). I only show mares (and stallions, though they are far less). PPP and PEP combo mares are the basis of my show stock. I train all in AD- that way if they level up in one discipline I just try them in the one they haven't leveled yet. I started with my level 1 fillies and gradually my show profit grew as they grew and now I only show level 5 to 9 and hit my show cap with just those. Plus I don't need to keep barns for horses I cannot breed with (apart from my precious oldies of course, who still either show or train my riders as schoolmasters). I'm not saying mine is the 'right' or only way. Just giving a different perspective to the myth that anything that isn't a gelding is allergic to showing.
Greenheart Stables
If it helps I have a simplified showing guide on my stable page I use for myself
Cataclysm
Star, couple months, but i got one of the giveaway mares so it was probably quicker than most
Sunset River Arabian
Eury I know it just dumbs it down so I understood it better I think
Cherry Creek Ranch
I really liked Foggy’s guide. It was really easy for me to understand. I still keep it saved in case I ever need it
Gaelic Gladiacres
color wb - stable > inventory > craft > bottom of the page is the rusty bit recipe
The Old Gods
I'll forever be amused that that guide, more or less, paraphrases everything in my guide
