Wonderful <3 Vesper is doing well and eating like a champ. Excited to pair him with my female once he's appropriate size for breeding :D It'll be anywhere from 1-2 years before that though so I get to enjoy him being a goofball right now

Does he use improper outdated husbandry such as racks and heat mats? Over breeds his girls?

@Brook Depends if he's a reputable breeder. Just because he's family doesn't make what he does automatically ok. Does he keep his reptiles in proper enclosures, do they have enrichment, are they properly fed and at a proper body condition. Does he have a vet on call? Does he ensure his animals go to proper homes? The reptile market is super oversaurated and the animals often suffer from that, 3 out of my 4 snakes were dumped on me.

Gren, I just looked and there like 1k lol, But I feel like sence my uncle breeds them do you think he would be a good person to get one from?

Anyone here live in England who can go give my partner a kick in the bum lol
Greenheart Stables
Yeah, go to expos and even then see if they'll let you handle the snake, cheak for mites or mucus dripping from the mouth, if they look dehydrated or on the thin side. Always get the enclosure ready ( learned that the hard way) and go ahead and invest in a 5 x 2 x 2 PVC enclosures if you get one of the "bigger" breeds. Research above all and even then be prepared for the chance you might not get what you want ( EX: a extremely defensive snake)

Don't know a lot but I know pebble loves to dig in sand and that's about it lol
Painted Perfection
Brook, I live in Ny with a ball python. Just make sure whatever room you keep them in has sufficient heat and you have heat lamps on the tanks etc. Dont use hesting pads as that can cause risks of burns for the snakes

My uncle breeds snakes, that's how I know about his little and boa names pebble lol, shes my favorite
Monstera Way Stable
Thanks RiverView! I kinda figured, just started getting paranoid that I was somehow clicking a button wrong.

If you do chose to.. check out reptile expos.. do not go to petco or petsmart and buy snakes and terrariums there. They will not give you the correct information about them as often times they have no clue what certain speices need

I feel like another thing I would worry about though is I live in Maine and its always cold here and I would worry about a heater not being warm enough for a sand boa
