Morning Star Wubs
It literally drove me up the wall seeing the over due comments, so frustrating to see, especially when I dont follow her but the stuff is constantly shoved in my face because I follow other etheical breeders lol
Gaelic Gladiacres
every horse is an individual, the standard range is 320 (viable) to 360, anything after 360 is "overdue" but it's just like people, some can go overdue just fine and for others it's concerning
Faithful Stables
My family also were breeders. Never saw a maiden go over 400 days. But it depends on the horse 🤷
Minerva
In the nicest possible way (and I'm saying this with someone who hasn't bred before and isn't claiming to be any sort of expert)... do you think possibly your conception dates might be a little early? 400+ seems insane
Tumble Weed Stables
Katie ultrasounds her horses so they will never have twins. If the chance of twins happens she reduces one embryo.
Browning Ranch
I used to work for a breeder who had lots of mares go 350+ days, including maidens. It is completely normal
Angels angels
I don't know where you heard that. Maidens typically foal early
Morning Star Wubs
Maidens almost notoriously over cook into the 400+ mark she was not overdue.
Acacia Riding Center
If there the birth you guys are talking about involved twins, it is very, very common that only one is able to make it. Sadly this is just due to the lack of space for both. Im sure a cord or anything could have stopped the fillies availabilty to survive.
Morning Star Wubs
I just said 400+ days is more than normal and expected for mares especially maiden mares. They dont have traditional due dates just averages.
Angels angels
Yeah also considering she was a maiden I would consider it overdue
