| Yeah that's my plan I'm gonna be out tomorrow so I'm gonna chat with her about it because every lesson so far has been pretty challenging with these horses that are more hot than I'm comfortable with right now. I would have felt more safe today putting a first ride on my colt lol |

| if a student told me they had grown up around horses I would probably also think they were pretty experienced and able to handle a bit of a more challenging horse, definitely like have a chat with her and be very clear that you're a nervous rider (I read your forum post) and that you really just want to have fun and get comfortable in the saddle again. |

| Dusty I think that's a huge part of it I'm not very good at communicating some times so I'm going to sit down and talk to her next time. I remember talking to her about growing up with horses and to be honest maybe she thinks I'm more experienced than I am. |

| I'm pretty sure they also didn't expect her to act like that today and that's probably some of the disappointment my trainer had but next lesson I'm riding the chill guy gelding who all the kids ride. |

| Even if it is just her needing injections, that doesnt sound like the kind of horse you would want to put someone who really needs confidence on. Maybe there's a miscommunication between you and your trainer about what you're trying to accomplish? |

| typically id say just spank and then move on and ask again but this sounds way more like pain |

| I'm not sure because last lesson she was totally fine but she does also get injections so maybe just in need of those and she's sore? She is a high level show mare and does good with the right rider but I think she can also see through me a bit because i don't have confidence she knows she can push me around a bit. She's also the bully mare out in the pasture so it's probably a combination of a bunch of stuff |

| I agree with lucky, all the "misbehaviors" you said she does sound like pain issues, especially combined with her trying to buck off the trainer too. Would it be possible for you to take lessons at another barn? I'd be wary of doing any lessons at a barn that would let a horse like that in their lesson program |

| I take a lesson once a week and this was my 4th lesson. Next lesson I'm going with one of the chill geldings and just having a chill ride |
