Coppers, I've got lots of experience in reptiles, too! Lots of geckos, though. Beardies aren't difficult to take care of, but getting them to eat their healthy food can be like trying to convince a toddler to eat their veggies and I don't have enough time in my day at the moment lol

Yes, though. Budgies interact with humans. I had one baby, his name was Echo, who would greet me every time I came home and asked to be let out. Just takes a little trust-building with some.
Revel, Don't let the cockatiel conversation scare you lol. Budgies are a lot less messy, especially if you get a center-cage bowl... Cockatiels can be messy or clean, just depends on the personality. None of mine tip their bowls, nor throw their food
