Ari Yeah you do what you can, but sounds like you were doing it right. Bermuda isn't necessary low sugar it is just low everything lol so it is good for almost any horse that has to be on a special diet |

Dusty Yeah when she has them we give her a bunch of karo syrup (which of course she does not mind lol) then if it is really bad we will give her some medicine that we keep on hand from the vet to stop the attack |
The Joker |
Ah gotcha gotcha, I didn't have access to low sugar specialty hay so I just soaked our local hay to try and draw the sugars out |
Shamrock Cove |
Ari He shattered his front left pastern playing in a pasture. He bucked and turned, and completely landed wrong. Unnecessary detail, but it was on my birthday as well. </3 |

So for PSSM he would only get oats and Bermuda as well but we would also soak his hay to take some of the sugar out of it |
Angels angels |
Oh wait thats the HYPP lol PSSM has to have as little sugar as possible |
Savannah Stables |
Angel What do you do for her when she does? With mine we would give her a lot of karo syrup and go on a walk and that would usually stop it, it was just catching it in time before she started having the full body seizures that was hard |

Ari Yeah like I said she only got oats and Bermuda hay and no treats. They have to have like less than 1% potassium in their diet. Increased sodium and sugar can also help |
The Joker |
PSSM, I had a mare with it too and I'm just wondering if I could have handled her diet situation better |
Shamrock Cove |
