I definitely wouldn't get rid of your SD since you have so many high on the KNNSD LBs and a few ABSD LBs. But maybe cull a bit more harshly so you aren't spending ebs on mares/studs who aren't as good producers? Then definitely start out small for KNN AD breeding. Maybe do 1-2 nice matches a year in the beginning and see if you can build up some nice stock. If ebs are a problem, then you probably shouldn't keep any KNNs for AD under EPP/PPE, and see if you can sell off the PPPs and PEPs (XC is such a common strength for KNNs, that they aren't really worth keeping unless they have good training and production). FR anything lower than that unless you want to use it for SD. If you can breed/buy a few nice EE+ KNN mares then you should be ok. Whatever you don't breed yourself, you can always brood out! |

Definitely try not to keep a bunch of average breeding stock. I was gifted a ton of KNNs a few months ago, and some are great! But others are pretty meh. I've culled quite a few of them, but I'm hoping to get a 50 stall barn eventually so I can have a club brood barn and offer them discounted for the club. Lol but I also want to do a KNN Capture Party, so we'll have to see. |

Oooh good advice.
Perhaps I'll start culling out the 1-2 yro mares (at RO, for ebs) the way I do studs based on training. And keep only mares who have thrown all E's at 5 years old? I also recently started culling all mares over 6 who had never been on the LB.
Also, should I raise my #1 boy's breeding fee? I had it at 15k, but should it be 20 to bring in more? Not so sure |

Unfortunately, I can't be of more help with the stud fee, as I have never been successful enough to offer a stud fee over 500 ebs. But the culling sounds good! Generally, from what I've noticed, and correct me if I'm wrong, if a SD horse isn't on a LB it is unlikely that it will produce anything high enough on a LB to be of use. There are always exceptions, but that's what I've commonly seen. And, for SD, I'd probably cull anything that either hasn't thrown all E or has thrown more/ the same amount of P as they have E. I usually like to keep a "ratio" of 2 Es produced for every P produced for my SD, but no one really breeds SD WBs so all my stock is pretty weak compared to other SD xD |

I have a minimum of one P for 5 year olds as of now, but I can easily up it to no P's. And definitely culling non-LB mares. That means I can cull right from 3 year olds, basically. Any P and they're gone. |

I have 3 KNNs on the KNNXCLB, highest being #8, but nothing on the Eventing LB as of yet :b |

Okay so Matilda is out for brood. Willow doesnt want to brood her out cx so my next best bet is that other mare I showed both skye and Kass. unless I find another one post RO. |

I would say you have a shot! Even some of my weaker and not so good EE Combo and EEE KNN Mares have gotten and stayed on the EKNNLB. I'm sure she might place high due to throwing that EEE. The EKNNLB is weird so I don't know where she would place but I'm sure she will somewhere. LOL! |
