That's a cool WIP! Did you sketch an outline of the wings first? If not, I think it will help to nail down the general shape of the wing you want before painting the base colors in.

Also, is the wing design based on anything in particular? If you're interested in that sort of look, swans and great white egrets might provide useful references.

Could anyone good with horse anatomy help me out with a bit of advice/critique? I've been working on a bio image and am painting over the body.

The shape of the eyes (and the region around the eyes in general) looks really off to me, and I would appreciate any pointers!

Thats absolutely stunning Denny! I think youre right. The eye on the left hand side is a little jutting out, so maybe round that off. And the eye in full view is a little too skinny and pointy. If you look at a real horse's eye, you can see it has a more spherical shape You actually put in more of a human eye with the almond shape.
