The February PPP Club Class

You asked - so here it is! The first Guinea Pig Class!

Class ideas are suggested frequently, while a lot of them sound fun, they don't always translate well to being PPP/HEE compatible. Suggestions for Western style classes can be hard due to the lack of HEE Western Tack.

Working Equitation
Where the maneuverability and obedience of a well balanced horse is tested through a speed-run obstacle course and dressage test.
Entry Must Include:
Adult Horse/Pony
Tack Requirements:
A Bridle
A Baroque Saddle
Tack Requirements:
A Hoof Livestock Decor item
Background Requirements:
The Arena Background
Extra Requirements:
Must be a PPP Club Member

Send your PPP Club Class Entries to Boulder Creek (289810) same as you would for the regular PPP Entries!

If you need tack and/or decor - comment or send a message, we've got you covered!

About Working Equitation:
There are four trials to the competition: a dressage phase, an Ease of Handling phase, a Speed phase, and Cattle phase.

The Dressage trial is similar to a regular dressage test.

The Ease of Handling (EOH) trial is a set pattern with obstacles.

The Speed trial is a set pattern of obstacles that must be completed as fast and accurately as possible.

The Cattle Trial has each rider separating a cow from the herd and guiding it to a pen with two or three other support riders.

The EOH and Speed obstacle elements include going through a gate, weaving through poles or barrels, over a bridge, spearing a ring, jump an obstacle, sidepass over a rail, and enter water.

This class is a Work In Progress as an OFFICIAL PPP Class. That's where YOU, the Guinea Pigs come in - send feedback! Is it easy to understand, do you think it's a good addition to the PP Class Lineup? Why do you like & What don't you like?

After doing some research on Working Equitation - the idea of this class might be better suited to be geared toward a Doma Vaquera style theme. Please comment your thoughts about the class/name/requirements.

Good Luck!

Re: February PPP Club Class:
Love the class! Doma Vaquera is a perfect name for it.
Once I understood what a Doma Vaquera is, it was easy and fun to enter!

Hey,
Thanks for the feedback PK - it really helps!

Looks like the What's My Name !? class could have used some work-shopping before presenting it to the PPP Community.

Having some issues with the entries...
With the idea that it's a PPP Community Special Event to engage with the larger community - the horses' names should be something relatively simple and concrete versus the more abstract and intangible.
I understand wanting to stump the 'Guessers' but when the horse's image doesn't really give any hints at all as to what the name is, and heavily relies on a wordy blurb - the point of the class is a bit off mark.

Any feedback on the Guess My Name class would be helpful on presenting it (and other Special Event classes) to the PPP Participants and the Community.

- - -

The February Show has received good turn out so far - a couple new stables are participating this month, that's pretty exciting!
A Big THANK YOU to the PPP Community for bringing awareness of the PPP Contest to the greater HEE world.

The best part of checking in entries is seeing how hard everyone works on creating diverse and unique entries within the set parameters of the classes. I love seeing how the HEE Tack & Decor can be used in different ways that's outside the box. Like last month flowers were used to create a Snowy effect for the Snow Day class - that totally blew me away!

Thanks for making it so much fun to host the PPP Contest!
Hope you are having just as much fun participating!

Congratulations to Footloose & Fancy for winning the Working Equitation PPP Club Test Class!

- - -

Working on rounding up all the votes for the February Show - hopefully will have that settled up in the next day or two!

Speaking of shows - I'm planning on switching the show rewards to the Prize Stash for the Spring Series (March, April & May) and working on putting together prize packages.

What are some that you would like to see?
- The PPP Prize Storage Vault has a lot of Straws to put up, a few Horses, some specialty items, and of course a lot of Tack & Decor

• Thinking of having a Capture Package with a few maps.

• An Accountant Package with a Love Potion and Coffee and maybe a few ebs

• A full tack set for one of the PPP classes

• A Mare & Foal Package - maybe a PPP+ mare and a matching foal decor

• A Exploration Package - some treats and a bigfoot?

⭐ A 3 month upgrade to be drawn at the end of the Spring Series

Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated!

The February Show results have been posted. EBs will be sent out shortly.

Currently processing the Championship scorecards - we had 15 judges help us place the 9 classes!

Thank you to LunarEclipse for offering to donate an EEE mare with matching foal decor!

A new PPP Club Test Class will be posted soon - excited to see how you let your imaginations fly with this class!

Want to be a Pretty Pony Pageant Judge? Please comment or send Boulder Creek (289810) a message.

Looking for volunteers to help with entry checks - an easy gig that happens right before show results are posted.

Always appreciate mistake corrector volunteers - if you ever see anything that doesn't make sense or is an error (like the December Superhero Ribbons were accidentally posted as the Thanksgiving Ribbons 😳). Feel free to comment here or send a message!

Thanks for supporting the PPP!
