Just too cold and windy Issy.
I’d sit in the heated pool and freeze my body parts off standing up due to the wind XD and the ocean water was freezing

I grew up in rural Canterbury. We would swing from -12+ in winter to 35 in summer. It’s rough

Not sure our ocean is warm enough to swim year around. I was in the sea just yesterday for training purposes and it wasn’t warm.

Depends what kind of lifestyle you're after too. When I lived in London and met other kiwis they all found nz too slow - not an unwarranted opinion! Haha

  5. Was the book what you expected it to be based on the synopsis?
  6. Were you hoping the book had done something different?

I gave this book a 3/5 stars. I will explain why in the rest of this post-
.
  1. I was a little annoyed at the beginning of this book I felt like it dragged on a bit before getting to the actual story.
  2. I believe he began with these points just to get a back story on who Charlie was and what he has been through, but I feel it could have been done in way less pages and less detail.
  3. I was so confused about this. Would he have said Earth? America? or what lol
  4. I feel like the book had this huge lead up and so much action then it kind of ended uneventfully.
  5. I didn't know this book was going to be the typical found prince saving this fantasy world. I was hoping it would be more of him just finding this world that would eb a combination of different fairy tales and his exploration of it. Kind of disappointing.
  6. (See 5)
  7. I have read Grimm's Fairy Tales, but it has been quite a few years, and I am not very knowledgeable on fairy tales, so sadly I didn't make any connections unless they were stated in the book.
  8. I have read many books from King and I have a lot of 5 stars from him. I also have many more of his books on my physical and overall TBR so of course I will be reading more lol.
.
As I said in my answers to the questions overall I was just disappointed with how this book went and I definitely feel it could have been a way shorter book. It was still a good book but not what I was wanting it to be. I have said many times before though I am not a fantasy reader so that didn't help lol.

I'd have to give it a 2/5 stars as I got bored halfway through and put the book down and then picked it up and gave it another chance but it's just not my type of book.
but that's only my opinion so feel free to give it a go and you never know you may enjoy it.
