Okay, loves. I would like to express something, as it has been sitting pretty heavily on me, and part of my artist block I believe is caused by this: . Similar to what a lot of other artists have been experiencing, it seems I am getting orders more and more complex as time goes on. People are getting lengthier, more specific, asking for many changes once the piece is completed. This, although cool to the person ordering, and occasionally really successful (don't get me wrong, people have really cool ideas, especially when the artist asks to be given super specifics), can be a very heavy toll on the artist's time, and really limits their own personal creativity within the piece. . Creativity can be a lifeline of unique, memorable pieces: it is what we artists love art for. Please, guys. Remember, HEE artists aren't doing this as a job to earn money to benefit ourselves in real life- this is a hobby, done within a game that we all love and enjoy. Hobby art in some cases is done for the freedom of creating a world- something new, to share with you all. A lot of us spend a lot of time searching through stock images on quite a few sites to put things together for people, in our own styles. Some of us need a little more freedom to be on our a-game: and it is time out of our days to create something that you're able to keep, use, and cherish for a long time, if not forever. . I'm not talking about the orders asking for slight nudges in smaller directions. Fantasy? You got it. Want a certain animal in the image? No problem. A certain pose, or maybe a certain environment (beach, forest, etc.)? Perfect. Change up the patterns, or try to make them exact? Absolutelty. Please, always feel welcome to nudge. It just gets tough when it's a bunch of specifics combined. It can be discouraging when it is seen as often as it currently is. . In order to help keep the insanely complex orders to a minimum, I would like to ask that all orders be placed in my forum. Please don't worry about your order unless I PM you asking if I can get a little more freedom. :) This is more oriented towards going forward, as opposed to the orders I have currently agreed to take on. This is part of what is slowing me down- especially when I'm approached through PM. . I love you all, and I hope there is some understanding <3 - Versa |

Exactly why I closed my shop. Good on you for speaking up. If people have an EXACT idea in their mind they want done to a T, they can learn to do it themselves. |
