Have you tried using imgur? it's just a very basic image editing site, but it lets you resize.

It's sooo easy. You just upload and click edit and change the size to 300x300. Believe me, if it wasn't easy, I wouldn't touch it.

For a first time I think it looks amazing. The background is exactly what I wanted. But for the horse! The coat is absolutely beautiful! xD
