Im hoping so as I don't think she's ever worn one! She's been indoors with the sheep with her current owner so she might be a bit surprised by outdoor living initially but Im sure she'll adapt. Ive got a little rainsheet that might fit her, plus my friend has some rugs left over from their old shetland that I could probably borrow if I need one ASAP for her. We'll just play it by ear I think

Perfect, and I'm guessing she's fluffy enough not to need rugging until we get into the minuses again?

Oh yes- decent energizer and a great big battery that have been tested *many* times by both ponies and me 🤣 I think I might decide based on how stressed she is about being alone overnight. If she'll cope being one end while they're potentially out if sight at the other then Ill do that for a week, if not then they can go next door. Ive seen just lobbing them out and letting them sort themselves work fine- thats how we reintroduced Minnie at my friend's- but if Ive got the facilities to create a bit of distance I might as well. Ted's introduction was nice as he was shut in the field shelter with Minnie grazing the section around him so they could interact but not beat the shit out of each other

Ohh that’s a hard decision - if you’ve the space a buffer zone might be helpful initially, if you anticipate silly behaviour 🫣 But either sounds great to me, very sensible to give them time to meet over the fence. I’ve never understood people who chuck horses into established groups right away

Have you got a good energiser on your fencing to prevent any escape artist-ing? Echoing what Ash said, I have friends who've used transporters both within the UK and from the continent and they've always been fantastic. If anything, the fact that they have no affiliation with your horse can be better, since they don't have the nervous/excited energy that we would when picking them up, if that makes sense
Minerva
07:38:57 Min
That is very reassuring to hear Ash lol- my anxiety is on overdrive 🤣 I also can't decide whether I should have them in two parts of the field right next to each other or build a buffer zone in between to start with. She'll be in overnight on Saturday though so Ill have time sunday to decide

Pro transporters are very good (in my experience anyways); its a leap of faith putting your precious baby in someone else’s hands but I just told myself they do it every day, with years of experience. And with a company you usually have the benefit of them having connections should (heaven forbid) any support be needed
Minerva
07:35:19 Min
Im crossing my fingers! Its my first time using a separate transporter as we collected Minnie and Ted was brought over by the seller so Im shitting myself a little bit 😬 I do have a cunning plan in mind to justify this self indulgence though (aside from companion and cute)- the local farmer and the couple with a smallholding down the road both have 1 year olds currently. If I can get her going nicely by the time they're thinking about riding the two girls from down the road will have outgrown her and she can hopefully have at least one little jockey to take her hunting etc

here's five school horses. i can make more if needed :)
.
WO Mirage ‘Mira’ 15.2hh, mare, 7 years: Mira is a flashy Quarter Pony x TB mare with light, stretchy movement and a big jump. She has a big heart and is really very brave, almost too much so. She has been known to drag a rider to a fence from all the way around the arena and not take ‘no’ for an answer. She needs a rider who can regulate her speed as she can get moving and is very difficult to get back. The faster she gets, the more clumsy she gets, too. Tons of scope and potential to show in the 3’/1m classes as she gains more experience. Mira is a shiny black mare with a stripe and three white socks.

WO Equinox ‘Knox’ 16.3hh, gelding, 10 years: Knox is a chunky light gray Percheron x KWPN gelding with a huge step and clomping movement. He is one of the most forgiving horses in the barn, despite being really very intuitive and not bombproof. He doesn’t have a motor typically but he also does what his riders ask--he’s not dead to aids. If he gets nervous he gets very strong, pushy, and may even run off, and typically does not come back from this in that same ride. Yet, the next time you get on him, he’ll be back to normal. He is one of the favorite mounts of the dressage riders as well as lower-level eventers. He has shown up to training level eventing, 4th level dressage, and has even taken in a few hunter/equitation shows.

WO Vagabond ‘V’ 16.1hh, gelding, 10 years: V is a handsome silver bay APHA gelding with beautiful sweeping movements. He goes the perfect speed and can really be ridden on autopilot. He’s more tolerant than most of the horses in the barn, but his experience makes him a prime ride for the most advanced of riders at White Oaks. He is the horse that trainers put riders on that are moving up the highest levels of their discipline and want to learn without getting thrown. He has a blaze, four white stockings, and many tobiano markings as well as mane frosting and silver points.

WO Simply Dashing ‘Dash’ 17.1hh, gelding, 6 years: Dash is a handsome chestnut sabino gelding that has recently been retired from the track. He is fairly good-natured, but like many OTTBs, has an excessive amount of energy and can be very hot and sensitive. He has just finished his training program after adjusting to life as a pasture pony and then getting re-broken, so he is still very new to everything. He is really very strong and riding him can be a power struggle, but he’s not intentionally difficult, and in fact, seems to want to please. He will take a VERY patient and VERY sensitive, soft rider who can still be firm, brave, and willing to get back on after falling in the dirt. He is a one-horse type rider, and will reward his rider with a heart of gold if they show him enough care and patience.

WO Limelight ‘Luz’ 17.1hh, gelding, 8 years: Luz is a beautiful, beautiful 1/4 Andalusian x 3/4 Iberian Warmblood gelding. His gray color is very striking and his movement and athleticism draw a lot of attention in the equestrian world. He can tend to be too ‘dressage-y,’ but his scope, adjustability, and endless potential have made him a favorite of hunter and big-eq judges. He has also done eventing and showjumping in addition to dressage. He has really done everything, and is a very adjustable, smooth ride. He is not very forgiving and lacks affection, tending to be more of a ‘diva’ type. This doesn't keep him from being a favorite of judges, riders, and pretty much everyone, though. Just watch that he doesn’t over-anticipate what you’ll ask, this typically ends badly. Like any diva, Luz hates the word ‘no.’

SVA, if you're still gonna make that murder/kidnapping/??? subplot will you make Max the victim instead of Viktor? That's more convenient for my drama. It creates Alex and Rena drama and it unites Devyn with the little group and yeah it'll be more convenient lol. Thank you! <3

ignore what i said yesterday. devyn is hunter/eq and then will probably end up trying eventing or having that as her other discipline. i'll include that in her story arc. but her and sofia (max & vik's sis) will be primarily hunter/eq. then viktor is showjumping. i think i'll have him dabble in western for fun but he'll pursue showjumping more seriously. also adding three more characters soon lol. i have to get posts up for the ones i have tho first. wes post extremely soon

Yes. But I need to iron out the basic character sheet and it definitely won't be today since I'm jam packed with stuff I need to do. And I also jammed a thumb, so all of today is going to be really fun and painful, sadly.
