Buckeye,
Alright, thanks for the tips .-.
Full Stride Farm
01:53:21 Buckeye!
Noli, that's fine.
Just get one with proper lineage and proven herding parents.

Just happen to have pups now....lolz

Buckeye,
True, but I think I'll have enough time in the future to train the pup myself
Full Stride Farm
01:50:56 Buckeye!
Definitely need to get the properly bred Border Collie for herding - and even then not every pup makes a super herding dog. Lots of time and training.
There are already trained herding dogs available, but yo'u're going to pay for that service

Lol, looks like i'll have to do a bit more research before I decide on which breeds to get .-.

Also worth noting that being a collie doesn't necessarily make it a good sheepdog. At my old job we rounded up the sheep on foot and with a quad most of the time, as the lovely "sheepdog" was generally pretty shite xD Although he did save my arse when I discovered the tups had escaped while walking the farm dogs once bless him

Dawnmist, Buckeye, Eury,
Alr, thanks. I'll look into the breed

you're better off getting a dog breed that's designed for livestock guarding like pyranese, anatolian, or akbash

01:46:51 Buckeye!
If you want to guard livestock, you are better off to get a LGD breed like Great Pyrennes, Anatolian, or even a couple of donkeys

Just be aware Dobermans aren't outdoor dogs, have no undercoat. Though they can be happy if you get them a dog coat, used to do that for my pair when we went hiking in the snow

I might just get a Doberman to guard the cattle, chickens, etc..
And get a Border Collie to help with the herding
Full Stride Farm
01:45:03 Buckeye!
Border Collies are not neurotic if trained.
Well bred ones are easy to train "off switch" as the saying goes. And actually, over stimulation creates more neurotic behavior issues than people realize.

Proper manners training, normal physical exercise, and some training to stimulate the brain, (like trick training, or easy sport skills, puzzles, etc) and they are lovely family dogs

dobermans melt in the rain, but they're very loyal and smart. They're not quite as "need a job" as the border collies, but also need a lot of exercise. And some people look at you funny

Border Collie all the way, but better train it!

Would not advise a collie as a house pet- they go properly neurotic unless you can spend hours and hours every day doing things with them

I honestly don't know yet but I might just get both lol

Are you going to work the dog or is it only a house pet?

What do you want the dog to do? Collie would be the obvious choice for herding, but if you want something big and scary as a guard dog they might not serve you as well

I...honestly don't know xD
25+ roleplay horses, and 30+ horses owned by Kholo, including schoolhorses. I think?
But there will be horses of students who aren't actualky being played, who are just there to make the farm seem bigger xD

*yeets Shadow*
Show Name: BJF Shadows Of Beyond
Barn Name: Shadow
Gender: Gelding
Height: 16.2 hh
Breed: Appaloosa x Tennesse Walking Horse
Appearance: Shadow has wide-set eyes, causing a somewhat shocked expression. His light eyes peer from behind a lengthy forelock, his sclera showing due to his cross with Appaloosas. He has dark black fur and a black mane and tail. Shadow is a blanket Appie, his melting snow pattern stretching to the beginning of his legs. He sports the typical Tennessee Walker hindlegs, sticking out slightly.
Personality: Shadow is a sweet-tempered horse, always wanting to be loved. Although kind, he is shy and occasionally aggressive with strangers, unless someone he knows is with him. He has his quirks in the saddle but is still a dream to just ride. Showing, however, is trickier. He hates large crowds and will act up at loud noises, including music. He does calm down for classical music though.
Likes: long trail rides, hanging out with his buddies, classical music.
Dislikes: strangers, loud noises, large crowds
Discipline: Barrel racing & cutting
Achievements: Nothing big :) Due to his overwhelming fear of crowds. he hasn't been shown much, excluding a few local shows.
Owner: Liz Farrow
Other: Waffles with ice cream
-DOOSH-
WO When Giants Fall 'Giant' 16.2 hh, 6 yrs, stallion: Giant is a handsome chestnut Quarter Horse. Green as grass, the stallion is planned to enter the Western show ring at a later stage, with barrel racing and cutting. He has had minimal training and was only broken in two years ago, due to a tragic injury at age three. He shows great promise, although has plenty of tricks and pranks to hide it.
