Hidden in the quiet, winding mountains of New Zealand lies a quaint and charming stable. Little Brooke, established in the early 70's, has been a place for equestrians of all levels to come and hone their skills. It's a place to feel welcomed, appreciated, and optimistic for the future ahead.

A special riding program was accepted into the mix of events and purposeful things Little Brooke does. For the past four or so years, the facility has been taking on twenty or so students from around the world who plan to pursue equine work in their lives. The students are given a year to achieve any equine-based goals they plan on accomplishing and then are sent off to continue on with their lives. Some leave and don't return, and others come back easily as instructors or professors.

However, this year will be a bit different. Little Brooke hosts a horsemanship competition every decade. This goes from May 2nd to May 28th, and riders (from Little Brooke and further across the world) are welcome to participate. This takes place at the end of the year. Show jumping, cross country, barrel racing, pole bending, you name it, will be included in this year's riding program.

Now, of course, riders are not permitted to attend; however, they will be strongly nudged in that direction. They are here to hone their skills after all!

1. Respect Instructors & Other Staff

2. No Fighting, Use of Illegal Substances, or Anything that might Endanger your Peers.

3. Instructors or Head Staff MUST be made aware of any trips outside of camp that are to take place.

4. Do Not Try to Ride Another's Horse, at least not without Permission from them.

5. Permission must be given to leave the immediate vicinity of the camp while on your horse. Ex: For Trail Rides.

6. Feed and medications will be provided for horses; please do not feed the horses yourselves! Staff have already taken care of this. It is common for horses to be sensitive to feed or other foods.

Stable Administrator/Owner - Mrs.Baker has owned Little Brooke for over twenty-five years. Now, in her mid-fifties, she is still going strong. Riders won't see her around often, but in passing, the woman is sure to give a curt smile or wave in their direction.

Show Jumping/Cross Country/Hunting Instructor - Madame Morven, a pale, thin woman in her late fifties, coaches Little Brooke's show jumping and cross country events. She - like the other instructors - is open for free one-on-one lessons. This may depend on the day. Her students often describe her as a stern and rather cross woman, but give her credit for learning a great deal.

Dressage/Vaulting Instructor - Ms.Daisy, as bright as her name, appears in her early thirties, with a grin almost always on her face. She teaches the elegant equestrian aspect, such as dressage and vaulting - otherwise known as "equine gymnastics". She's regarded as a gentle and encouraging teacher, and all of her students learn plenty.

Barrel Racing/Reigning/Western Pleasure Instructor - The chill, lenient Mr.Armstrong is always happy to welcome new riders and is often the first to shake their hands. Appearing in his mid-forties, Mr.Armstrong is suited best for western riding. While he may occasionally stray from the script, students learn a great deal from him.

Natural Horsemanship/Equitation Instructor - Mrs.Seifert specializes in the natural connection between a horse and its rider. The professional middle-aged woman also works well in the aspect of teaching horse health and safety expectations.

Stable Hand #1 - Ms.Young is a woman of a flexible sort of elegance. In her early twenties, the woman enjoys her time helping around as much as she can and will certainly be here if riders have any questions whatsoever.

Stable Hand #2 - Jack Anderson, a young man with a rugged, handsome sort of appearance, looks to be in his mid-20s. His charming, respectful demeanor is sure to steal the hearts of many, but his main goal here at Little Brooke is to learn more, and only that.

Build - Clara possesses an athletic sort of body structure. Her legs are long and strong from all the leg work she does in horseback riding, and her stomach area is generally flat. She is rather busty and holds her shoulders straight back and tall.

Face - Look above!

Hair - Naturally, her hair reaches down to her when her tail bone would be. It's thick and rather soft to the touch, with the color being a darker blonde. She usually keeps it up in a high ponytail with the two front pieces out. It's rare that she'll have it done, but when she does it's quite pretty.

Height & Weight - 16.2 Hands and roughly 635 kg

Build - Athletic. He has a strong, well rounded body structure that allows him to fufill his personal desires. His front and hindquarters are probably the strongest assets this gelding has, with a shorter neck and a large head.

Coat - See above. A dark bay with darker areas around his neck, shoulders, and legs. He has light dappling around his stomach and lower neck as well. A white blaze tapers high from his forehand to the pink snip of his top lip.

Mane - Shorter and dark brown in color, nearly black. He prefers it this length, as it doesnt get in his eyes while jumping. He looks great with his mane in braids.

Riding Gear - The typical hunter jumper or jumping saddle, black and without a horn. He looks good in dark blues, whites, blacks, and greens when it comes to saddle pads and leg covers. He does best with a bitless bridle but is understanding that jumping a horse may prove necessary for a bit. So long as it isnt too intruding.

Strengths:

❀ Patience - Destiney has the ability to endure difficult and high-stress situations and delays without becoming aggravated or losing his composure. This involves self-control, tolerance, and perseverance.

❀ Show Jumping - Destiney, for the past few years of his life, has been working and training hard when it comes to the athletic aspect of his life. While he's not the strongest on terribly textured terrain, give him a flat surface and some water jumps and he'll gladly work with you.

❀ Socialability - Being a gelding comes with its positives. While he may not be able to "show the love" like a lot of other males (stallions) he gets to be with his mares more. He is incredibly charming and does well in social situations.

❀ Laid Back - He is good at covering his riders' mistakes, if any are mad,e and is incredibly patient with them as well. He will continue on like nothing happened and isnt a spooky horse.

Weaknesses:

❀ Dressage - He simply cannot move himself like those dancing ponies. His legs are built for jumping, not prancing around mindlessly.

❀ Distractions - He cannot preform his best when a fly is constantly flying around his back legs or eyes. He isn't a commonly agitated horse, but the repetition of the distracting object is one of the few things that will slow his performances.

❀ His Mares - The ladies hes put into pasture with are his weakness. He will do anything to see them safe and away from harm, even if it means that latter will happen to himself.

❀ Self-Critical - He can never be satisfied with the fact that he may not be doing enough.

Backstory:

Born into captivity, Destiny was originally bred to work in the Dressage sporting industry. Obviously, that didn't work out. At the age of two, Desti was moved from his owner's ranch in Oregon to Little Brooke, all the way in New Zealand. He's been trained by professionals and is rather experienced himself, with all the different riders at that.
