it's just an extra indicator for me, mostly because someone had made a showing spreadsheet an dI got the pattern of placing indicating how ready they may be. because sometimes when they get the fresh bars, they still don't place well because they haven't had rl time in the level. seems to help
Painted Perfection

I dont check places or dates. I just train them and show them until they level up in that discipline and then train again until they have enough bars in the new level then enter again

tracking the training does help to an extent too because then I know how long they've had that training, or since they leveled up (kinda). but I tend not to fuss that bit. I could probably optimize more but -shrug-

*haven't had a show in the last month
Gaelic Gladiacres
09:35:04 Gladius
oh totally that's how I start--check all their bars, compare to level (I just use the easy show enter drop down to see the level) then if they've shown in the last month pop them in a show to have that date on the show page and what place they got, then adjust
Painted Perfection
09:33:59 Luna
The bar method is easy because I can look at their level and then look at the bars and be like..oh this horse is lacking a bar in mv so I cant enter dressage yet. But they have enough for jumping so I can put them in a jumping show instead. Etc.
Gaelic Gladiacres
09:33:29 Gladius
yeaaaah it can definitely use some improvement. clicking the button to get the bars but having to click out before selecting anything else gets old x-x just let me float it or it disappears on click on another element, that'd be a huge QOL upgrade I think
Painted Perfection
09:32:23 Luna
Thats why I do the bar method because the easy show enter page.. I need visuals for all of the numbers. I cant look at dates and stuff and know when to enter again after theyve had to train. I get confused.

Wild, please provide a written description of the horse, or link the horse in your barn. Also, riding level and experience isn't HEE riders' style, rather what your OC has achieved and how good they are.

Name: Jackson Simmons
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Job: (optional)
Appearance:
Your stereotypical sweet cowboy, Jacks is tall, standing at about 6'2". Choppy, slightly long sandy blonde hair that seems almost permenantly affixed in a ponytail at the nape of his neck. Hes fit, and somehow always has shirts that fit him in just the right way. A light five-o-clock shadow accompanies a gleaming smile and sparkling blue eyes. He has a sweet southern drawl, the result of being a Texas native.
Personality: Always the gentleman, Jacks is kind and caring. He has a somewhat dark sense of humor, however, as evident from his mare's name. He can also be a little severe, but he tries to make up for it through kind actions.
Discipline: Cross country
Side discipline (up to 2):
Father: Landon Simmons
Mother: Marcy Simmons
Siblings: (optional)
Horse: Grace, Gotye
Riding level: He's been riding off and on for years. Hes the son of a long line of cattle ranchers, but somehow weaseled his way into cross country.

Instructor

Name: Laurence DiLorenzo
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Discipline: Dressage (co-trainer)
Training experience: Laurence trained as an eventer until he was 18, when he got an opportunity to ride under a big name dressage trainer and grew his knowledge to the point where he could be considered a clinician. He still rides as an eventer, but has agreed to fill the dressage trainer position.
Horse: KNF Pantops, KNF Osiris, and KNF Adonis
Father: Sal DiLorenzo
Mother: Iris DiLorenzo
Siblings: Rain DiLorenzo
Appearance: Laurence is bronze-skinned and very, very, very attractive. It would seem that his looks got him everywhere and anywhere, until his work ethic is discovered. He is tall, standing at 6'6, and very muscular, especially his lower body. He plays soccer a lot on his free time, hence the way he is muscled. He dresses well, but not well enough to where he could be stereotyped as gay by a stranger. He is an attractive, attractive dude, and he has piercing cornflower blue eyes, instead of a green or brown that would seem normal for his skin tone.
Personality: Laurence is a very sensitive, deep person. He is a romantic at heart and is very intellectual and profound in his thoughts. He is a sensual, dreamer type.
Likes: cooking, novels, dressing up, movies
Dislikes: subtitles, wool clothing, shy people, salty foods
Backstory: Laurence was born in Italy, but he fell in love with America when he came on a study abroad in his freshman year of highschool. His sister and father wanted to stay in Italy, but he and his mom moved to Kansas his junior year of highschool. Being from a middle-class family, Laurence had to work hard to make ends meet, since his dad didn't support his riding and he had little means of American currency. Because of his hard work ethic, he was given opportunities other riders were not, and was discovered by a Grand Prix dressage rider at a clinic when he was 18. From then on, he trained dually as an eventing rider, then transferred to solely dressage by 23. He still events often, but is strongest in dressage.
Romantic status: Single. Bisexual, but his husband died not far into their marriage, only about two or three years after. If he were to find love, he has sworn by the fact that it will be a woman. He isn't shopping for boys rn lol.
GF/BF: Open, PM me.
Other: Open
.

Instructor

Name: Dajana Keznevic
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Discipline: Showjumping
Training experience: Dajana is a big name in Montenegro and in Denmark, where she competes for nationally. She has been riding since she was nine, and became a fierce competitor at 13. Since then she has moved up the ranks, and has agreed to take this high-paying, well-worth-it instructor position in order to have access to American horses and competition.
Horse: KNF Asterisk and KNF Atlantis
Father: Jan Keznevic
Mother: Isolde Fernandez
Siblings N/A
Appearance: Isolde has a very cute look about her. She still looks 16, and she has these really bright periwinkle/silver eyes that show every emotion, especially mischief and happiness. Her eyes are framed by stylish black glasses which match her medium-length black hair, which is usually braided, the front hidden in a beanie. She stands at only 5'1 and is very thin, not fit, just thin. She has a pretty proportionate body, and nothing particularly stands out.
Personality: Dajana is very mischevious, and enjoys pulling pranks/making fun of people she likes. She is a total goofball, and a great friend to have. She has a hard time being professional because of her natually bubbly and all-inclusive personality.
Likes: pranks, dancing, parties, horses who overjump, compliments
Dislikes: when people try and one-up her, shy people, people who aren't social or can't take a joke
Backstory: Dajana was born in Montenegro as the unplanned daughter of the head of one of the greatest plastic manufacturing companies in the world. She grew up having a close relationship with both him and her mom, and both of their spouses, but always enjoyed summers with her father at his vacation home, a sprawling equestrian facility. Eventually she dropped out of school and became a rider full time, being offered a place on the Danish Youth Equestrian Team and travelling with them internationally. Because of her need to establish American connections, she has decided to take the job here.
Romantic status: Single, straight, open.
GF/BF: Open, maybe Cam has met his match?
Other: Open
