Wren Carson - F - 15 - Riata & Lou - Mentions: Beau, Riata, Lou - Wren watched Beau go into the house, before going through some more drills. Soon after, Lou trotted lazily into the arena, looking up at her as she fixed her loop, clearly telling her he wanted to go for a run. She sighed, coiling her rope, putting on a post, and sidepassing Riata out of the arena. The pyrenees followed behind the mare, fluffy tail swishing slightly. - Riata's hooves crunched on the gravel as Wren walked her to the property's gate. She swung the mares hip over so she could lean over and undo the latch. She let Lou out first before following him and swinging Riata's front over to latch the gate again. The dog trotted infront of the paint mare and Wren let her walk at her own pace down the road, reins resting on the mares neck. - They went like this for a while before Lou dropped back to be at Riata's shoulder. After another short amount of time Lou stopped, his scruff going up. He growled carefully, and Wren shifted her weight for Riata to stop. Lou didn't growl often, and only did if there was sometime he REALLY didn't like. Which, sometimes, could be a hare. He hated those things. But still, she knew she should trust the dog. The turns her head slightly as she hears hooves on gravel coming down the road, towards her.

Opal-mae Lilland Duffel "Opal" | F | 23 | bambi & quin| mentions: bingo bambi quin Darren. . Opal watched Darren do bingos feet, his hands moving evenly across bingos hoof, the rhythmatic clink of the hammer against nails. When he set the geldings foot back down opal gave him a pat and nodded. "Alright then, do I owe you anything?" She asked him as she stepped backwards to grab her mare from the stall behind her. . Dustin James Duffel "Dusty" | M | 13 | Bullseye & Bingo| Mentions: rosko the mule, selma . Dustin shrugged "nice to meet you too" he patted roskos neck "I'll probably come to the clinic with opal so she can pick a handfull out to bring home. She's weird about the horses she takes in, something about wanting to take the ones with wild eyes because people always want the soft ones never the high strung" he struggled again as he offered his hand to Romeo so the big gelding could give him a sniff.

Selma Roselyn Tracey | 24 | F | Frankie & Romeo | Location: Store Selma let out a quiet huh that was carried away on a bitterly cold wind. "Well, most people don't know how to properly work with horses," she began. "That's why they always want the easy to handle ones." Usually, she wasn't one who spoke in such a blunt manner about others, even ones she didn't particularly care for. But when the topic of animal treatment was brought up, a fire was lit in her, drawing out a fiercely passionate side. As Dustin stretched his hand out towards Romeo, the gelding bumped his muzzle against the boy's palm and got familiar with his scent. "He's probably searching you for treats," Selma winked playfully. "Romeo's a spoiled little guy, or big guy, I should say."

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Barn | M: Opal, Bingo, Penny, Quin . "I'll let you have this one free" He smiled, "Wasn't anything too much and his regular shoe appointment will be coming up anyway". His tools all packed up Darren had to think about what other things needed to be done, grabbing the nearby broom he swept away any hoof remains from the floor giving the area a tidier look. He was thinking about bringing Penny down to the Veterinarians for an ultrasound to really confirm her being in foal and probably get some vaccinations if she is. . Putting the broom back and still in thoughts he'd probably just take Lupin as well to pony Penny and let him stretch his legs maybe get some vaccines for the season too. Coming back to look at Opal now having retrieved her mare from the stall she stayed in while he re-shoed bingo, "Well i hope he decides to keep all of his shoes on this time" He chuckled. "Just let me know if he doesnt improve or if you need anything else" He smiled, grabbing his tools to be put away after.

Emily Woodstock | 30F | Destiny & Yarra | Emily switched to a soft brush as she groomed Destiny, carefully following the grain of the hair, slowly as the barn soon became quiet and peaceful. Emily got stuck in the moment as she brushed the mare, finding peace as she let her thoughts run as her memories coming from that photo was playing back as if she had a movie playing in front of her. Emily started singing without realising she was, an old lullaby that was sung by many equestrian parents to their little children "Hush-a-bye, Don't you cry, Go to sleep, my little baby....When you wake.. You shall have..All the pretty little horses~" Emily dragged the ending as tears rolled down her cheeks, the brush slipped out of her hands as she leaned over and rested her head against Destiny's shoulder. Destiny lifted her head up as she suddenly felt pressure on her shoulder from Emily resting on her. Feeling the emotions coming from her rider, she nickers softly to the human as she turned her head towards Emily as if she was attempting to embrace. Yarra watched Emily and Destiny as he whimpered a little as he laid down as the door of the stall, looking down towards the entrance of the barn. Emily always kept the fact she was a very young teen mum, unfortunately her baby wouldn't be with her for long as her daughter became unwell a few months after birth and unfortunately didn't make it, 15 years ago. Emily tried hard to keep any memories locked up as she moved to this town to start fresh. That picture she had, she hadn't seen it for years and she had never told anyone in town or her past life. Emily wiped her tears away as she took a deep breath, bending down and picking up the brush and walking to the tack box and putting her grooming gear away before walking over to the tackroom.

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Barn, House, Barn | M: Lupin . His tools in hand Darren made his way out of the barn to go put them back away in his cabin, Humming to himself as he traversed through the slushy snow with his cabin slowly coming into view. Stepping onto the wooden porch he fished for the key from his pocket and unlocked the front door to walk in, closing it behind him to keep the cold from swweping through his heated home. The gentle thud and creak of the floor as he walked over to his working room and set the tools down gently inside. . Tools put away Darren now had to make plans for the other things he needed done as he exited his home to make his way back down to the barn, On the way there he pulled his gloves from his pocket and pulled them back on to warm his cold hands once more. Coming through the doors of the barn Darren grabbed the grooming kit on the way up to Lupins stall, greeted by the large built stallion he slipped into the stall to say hello. . "Hey bud" Darren smiled giving the white stallion a pat on the neck before taking the grooming brushes out of the wooden box, getting to work clearing away the dust and debree from him. Lupins tail gently swishing as he observed Darren brushing down his coat and occasionally switching brushes to get toughter patches out and free any loose hair. His coat clean Darren grabbed out the hoofpick and moved to Lupins side, clucking to lift his leg before picking out and assessing each of his hooves one by one. . With a pat on the shoulder Darren packed the grooming kit away and set it aside, Grabbing the halter and lead rope from the hook next to Lupins stall door Darren slipped the halter onto Lupins head and clipped it up. Unlatching the stall door he led the stallion out to be clipped in at the cross ties

Selma Roselyn Tracey | 24 | F | Frankie & Romeo | Location: Store Selma observed the Duffel kid and Romeo for a few more moments until the reason she was here came back to her, quickly and sudden, like a bolt of lightning. "It was nice meeting you, Dustin," she spoke fast, and a little nervous, "but I, uh, have an errand to run and then I gotta get back to the clinic. See 'ya later!" She threw up her hand in a frantic wave before disappearing into the store. Cat food... cat food... where would that be? Where would it be? She kept asking herself this question, as if she would magically draw up an answer. She started to prowl the aisles, making it past canned goods, then cleaning supplies... She perked up as she stumbled upon leashes and dog toys. Getting warmer. She kept on going, rounding a corner. Aha! Selma found herself staring at bags of cat food stacked on shelves, happier than most people would be in this situation. She marched forward triumphantly and grabbed the one marked Pixie's Kitten Feed (Selma liked it because it had an illustration of a fairy-winged cat on it), then went to the counter. After a warm exchange of small-talk with the clerk, she paid and left. That was simple enough. Now it was time to head back; Selma inwardly hoped she hadn't been absent to tend to any potential patients. She went to Romeo's side, the gelding reaching out to chew at a wayward strand of Selma's hair, to which she gently shooed him away. She hoisted the bag onto his back, then untied him. Selma led Romeo over to the porch of the store, standing atop it to add some height, then mounted, nudging him onward and heading down the path they came from.

Opal-mae Lilland Duffel "Opal" | F | 23 | bambi & quin| mentions: bingo bambi quin Darren. . As opal thanked Darren and made her way back onto the roads with a now sound bingo in tow she started thinking on what she would get too doing today. As bambi bounced around her mares feet quin pinned her ears and bit at the dogs back, bambi huffed in offense and started to trot next to bingo instead. Ahead of her she could head a dogs low snarl and the sound of horses chuffing. Bingo spooked and drug sideways on the leadrope tied to quins saddle. "Bambi! Whoa!" Opal shouted as the leadrope pulled across her leg from the pony cross trying to run backwards, quin struggled to keep a solid grip on the icy roads. As opal tried to pull up on her daily and release bingo the leadrope was too tight. Bingo surged forwards before pulling back again, tearing the denim of opals jeans as she tried to de-escalate the situation + Dustin James Duffel "Dusty" | M | 13 | Bullseye & Bingo| Mentions: rosko the mule, selma . Dustin nodded as selma ran back into the store. He briefly stepped into the door to grab clips and pay for them before going back out and mounting the chestnut mule. As he went to turn to go back home he heard sounds of horses struggling on ice in the opposite direction, so doing what any other thirteen year old boy would do in his situation he ignored what his sister has said hundreds of times about leaving people alone to deal with their horses and he canted rosko up the hill. Too his surprise it was opal quin and bingo who where struggling because hingo was pulling back violently and quin was loosing her footing. Dustin rode up to the pair, grabbed his split riens and whipped bingo across the rump with enough force that it echoed across the valley. The gelding lurched forward releasing the pressure from quins withers.

Emily Woodstock | 30F | Destiny & Yarra | Mentions: Darren, Lupin, Opal & Dustin | Emily walked into the tackroom and walked over to Destiny's section and grabbed her thick dark green cotton rug, some leg warmers and her black leather halter, she took a deep breath as she glanced over everything "I think I got everything right.... Rug, wraps and this... Yep sounds about right" she reassured herself before making her way back to Destiny's stall. "Okay... Missy... Time for Mr... Rug and wraps and I think it's time to let you run for a moment yeah?" She laughed as she talked to the mare as she approached the equine before placing the halter on a hook before slipping the rug on the mare, making sure the clips are all clipped up and in the correct spots "this should keep you warm aye... " She smiled as she slipped the neck piece over the mares head and connected it to the rug before wrapping the mare's legs "snug as a bug!" She chuckled. Destiny looked like as if she was wrapped in bubble wrap but she was now comfortable enough to be let out to the icy pastures. The mare snorted in a impatient way as she flicked her tail harshly. "Okay okay" Emily grabbed the halter and clipped it on the mare, leading her out of the stall. Destiny was NOT a fan of leg wraps, she tended to walk like a crab when fitted with leg wraps. Emily giggled at the sight of the mare odd walk "oh it's not that bad" she spoke softly "it'll keep ice off your legs" leading the mare down the barn. Walking down the barn, Destiny lifted her head up as she caught the sight of the stallion and the man that they saw earlier, she whinnied out to them as she stopped in the middle of the walkway. Emily tried to tug and clock Destiny on but didn't want a bar of it "come on.... This isn't like you to seek attention" she whispered to the mare. Yarra was following close behind them all along until the sound of a crack sound came whistling through the barn. A sound from something being whipped in the distance. Destiny jolted forward. Bumping into Emily causing her to drop the lead and stumble a bit but gained balance quickly. Destiny flared her nostrils as she suddenly became alert as she looked to the exit of the barn. Yarra whimpered as he jumped onto a hay bale and laid down. Emily held her breath for a moment. Not sure if she should be embarrassed or angry but most importantly she wanted to make sure Destiny was chilled "hey... hey..." She repeated herself in a soothing way as she rubbed the mare's neck "it's okay...." Feeling the heartbeat of the equine to slow down from a rapid pace.

Darren Lee Greyson | 46 | M | Penny & Lupin | Location: Barn Cross Ties | M: Lupin, Emily, Destiny, Yarra . Darren made a trip to the tack room to fetch Lupins attire for their trip to the vet clinic, grabbing his usual black english set with a comfy pad to go with. Coming back Darren first set the saddle pad upon his grey back and adjusted it to fit, the saddle swinging on next before Darren started doing up the girth. Out of the corner of his eye Darren spotted Emily with her horse Destiny and her dog Yarra whom he remembered them from earlier. Darren observed Lupin as he caught sight of them as well, responding back to Destinys call with a stallion toned nicker per usual but he stool still with his ears forward watching the group before the loud crack rang through the air. Darren was startled and watched as the rest of them clearly were too. . Lupin jumped back pulling against the cross ties a little before standing in a startled pose snorting. "It's alright buddy, i don't know what that was but its alright" Darren called to the startled stallion coming closer to ease him, Lupin adjusted his stance and watched the exit of the barn his heart was going but he soon calmed down with Darrens reassuring touch and words. "Are you guys alright?" Darren asked looking over to a very Alert Destiny and Emily calming the mare. "That was loud" he spoke as he continued tacking Lupin up, swapping his halter for a bridle and making sure his jump earlier hadnt offset any of his other tack. His next thing to do would be throwing a halter and lead on Penny then they could make their way to the vet clinic.
