(help why is Blu the trouble maker when pidgion keeps harassing her XD)

Blu wondered back to the shed she knew dinner was coming soon but she didn't really care much. She duckd under the door and layed down in the corner on the straw. The dark haired female was flat on her side soaking in the warm straw. She couldn't understand what was going on with the pack. Pidgion had just decided that she was going to try and boss around Jaeger. She just wanted to remind pidgion about her spot in the pack not to cause ever to fight. Then again one of the biggest things in all pack is if the swing dogs or the wheel dogs are more important. Blu sighed hearing the musher calling them for dinner she got up walked out of the shed and stretched. Before jogging over to take her spot at the end of the fence to eat.

Elivs was laying in the spot of grass pidgion found when he saw the food guy. He got up so fast that his legs and body was a blur for a minute. Wagging his tail her quite literally bounded over jumping up in the air to try and get the attention of the food guy. When they finally came over and poured the mix of dried meats and vegetables into his dish he shoved his nose in and went to town his tail wagging madly.

Blu had been slowly picking through her dinner she had looked over to see elivs acting like he had never eaten a day in his life and sighed. "That dogs gonna choke" she mumbled sitting down to finish the rest of her food. Elivs was done not even a minute after his food was served then he trotted back over to the patch of grass and flipped down with a thud. Blu jumped as something touched her paw looking down she saw a baby duck it's feathers yellow and fuzzy. She stepped backwards and it followed her peeping. Blu dropped her head staring at the fuzzy little duck wondering how it even got into their pen.

.{Arya}.

Arya lifted her head as Blu, Pidgeon and Elvis entered the run.

She rose, scrunching her nose disdainfully as Elvis greedily dug into his food.

Backups, she thought. No respect or decorum.

It made the pack look bad, though lately they had been doing that all by themselves.

Teufel and Kodack weren't back yet, and she hadn't seen Jaeger walk in, although he was pretty sleek with his entrances and exits.

Arya made her way slowly to her feed bowl and sat in front of it, patiently waiting for someone to bring her dinner.

Eventually someone came and filled her bowl.

As if trying to make a point Arya flicked her tail at Elvis as she started eating, slowly at that.

.{Kodack}.

Kodack was happy to be back in the run, especially if it meant he was about to have dinner.

He quickly noticed Arya over near the shed, finished with her food.

"So, i have a bit on Teufel. He scrunches his nose when he's annoyed, he doesnt hate me but we're not exactly .. aquaintences.. and he looks curious about you."

Jaeger paced in the gate, glancing around with a quick flick of his tail before going to rest in the middle of the area, per usual, under the shade of the big tree. The pack was in a tumultuous time, and he was trying to think of what he could do to fix it. He may not love every dog here and he may be quick to bite, but the team mattered more to him than anything else. He wanted to keep them all together. The man had just filled his bowl, so he padded slowly over and started eating, occasionally glancing up to watch the others.

Teufel was one of the last to stalk in, his head not low but not high enough to draw attention. He noticed that the musher was filling food bowls, with his far too close to all the others. He patiently waited for them to leave before silently going over and very carefully picking his up and walking farther away, near the edge of the pen but within earshot of everyone. He set it down and took a single bite, lowering himself to the ground in an almost graceful manner. His bright blue eye watched everyone else, always observing. Nothing was out of reach of his careful consideration. He vaguely heard Kodack say his name, flicking an ear that way to listen to what they were telling Arya. Just a little information. 'Well at least he knows enough to observe the new wolf instead of just openly snap.' He thought disdainfully, finishing his food in a slow manner.

| Pigeon didnt bother going over to eat. She sat in the shed without moving. She didnt want to eat. Not now. Not when she was thinking about her unborn lost pup. She sat there crying. Whenever someone got close she would growl at them and would cover her tummy as if she was still with pup. |

Blu finished her food padding over to the big slanted rock and taking a mighty leap onto it. She was pretty sure it was only their because the humans couldn't move it but she was one of the only dogs agilie Enough to jump up onto it. Elvis had tried last year and just smacked Into it. The she-dog layed with her lead on her paws watching the pack go about their day silently. She followed teufuls gaze to Kody. The male dog was talking with arya as usual. Blus gaze fell back onto the wheel dog. She had met him once before when she was a lot younger. Just briefly at a race. At that time elvis was still a pack dog but he had gotten replaced by to newer pack dogs. Blu pushed herself up into a sitting position she heard the peeping and watched as the duckling tried to get up onto the rock. It peeped then waddled to the fence and popped through the wire walking off to go find it's mother. With a big shake Blu jumped off the rock landing gracefully before trotting the fence line until she found a nice patch of grass in the sun. She kneaded it with her claws before flaying down and watching the pack from a distance.

.{Kodack}.

Kodack could feel eyes on him and as he turned his head to look over Arya's shoulder he caught Teufel looking at him.

He blinked slowly at Teufel, relaxing his muscles before turning back to Arya.

"I've been thinking," Kodack started, locking his sharp gaze onto his friends instead of Teufel's.

"Back in my old team we ran the Yukon Quest, it was my favorite competion, but our musher here is quite set on the Iditorad. He's been pouring over these maps and i was wondering if he is going to try the Yukon Quest."

The musher had been looking at a few other races, he knew, and Yukon made the most sense.

.{Arya}.

She tilted her head slightly, "I suppose there is a chance." She said carefully.

"But isn't Yukon all the way down from us? It would take weeks to travel all the way."

Arya shifted her shoulder's restlessly, she knew Teufel was looking at them.

She turned her head to look at him, giving a look as if to ask what he wanted.

Teufel flicked his ear back and stretched as soon as he was done with his food, knowing that they could tell he had glanced at them. His nails dug into the earth before he straightened, tail flicking slowly side to side. He wasn't one to rest, nor was he one to be anxious all the time. He usually just watched.

Jaeger glanced around at everyone before huffing out a quiet bark that would hopefully get their attention. "As you all well know, we need to chose a new leader for this year. We will continue only having one leader, as with the switching of dogs we now have an uneven number. You all know how this works. It'll be a three day exercise. I currently hold the lead position. Anyone who wants to can challenge me. We then fight, and whoever gives up first or cannot fight any longer loses. Like before, we're implementing a couple rules- no going for the eyes, try not to break fragile bones, and attempt to not permanently injure anyone. We are still a team, and if one of us starts limping, and won't stop, they can't run. Ever again. That was just be cruel." He stated firmly. "At the end of the three days, whoever has came out on top will be chosen as the lead dog for this year. Unless one of you would prefer otherwise, all other positions will stay the same." When he was done, he sat back down, surveying the reactions he was likely to get.

Teufel sighed. The 'no going foir the eyes' rule seemed directly targeting him, which was annoying. He did not get this permanent wound fighting for lead. Four other dogs cornered him when he was sleeping, and everyone else seemed to just 'not notice'. They all walked away defeated, but he had the scars to tell the tale.

He did not plan on doing anything. He didn't want lead, and his only hope was that no one challanged him just for sheer dislike of him or to prove their spot in the pack, because that could happen to. Likely would, even though he wasn't going to be happy about it. For now, he would sit, curl his tail around his paws, and watch.

.{Kodack}.

Kodack rose, padding down to the shade of a small gully, he was pretty sure Arya would follow.

Teufel had caught Arya's look and that was all he needed.

He sat quietly as Jeager spoke, noticing the crease in Teufel's face as he mentioned 'no-eyes'.

Kodack had noticed Teufel's scars but was smart enough to not mention anything.

There was no way he had gotten it fighting for lead dog, he wouldn't still look so sensitive about it.

Kodack's guess was that it was something else, something less honourable, and that was why Teufel looked like that.

Kodack himself had no plans on going for lead dog, that wasn't something he wanted, especially not now.

If he kept his head in the game then maybe in a few years he could go for it but he was to young now, Jeager would beat him and he knew it.

Besides, Swing dog wasn't something to sniff at.

He had fought for that role, knowing that the Swing dogs were basically second in command.

.{Arya}.

Arya for once didn't follow Kodack, instead she stalked closer to where Teufel was sat, interested in how he would react.

Teufel hadn't met nor spoken to her and she was hoping he would be even just slightly curious.

She settled down about five lengths away from him, curling her tail over her paws.

Arya listened intently to Jaeger, watching for the reactions of each dog in turn.

The idea that lead dog was open had been eating away at her.

She had been with the pack nearly four years, unlike Kodack's one year, and she knew the pack well.

Pidgeon wouldn't dream of it and if she did Jeager would shut it down quite quickly.

Elvis was obviously not a threat and Kodack wouldnt at this age.

That left Blu, Star, Polaris, Tahoe, Aputiak and the new dog, Teufel.

She doubted he would go for it though.

Aputiak was young, Kodack's age, but he was a whole lot bolder, which would be his downfall.

Blu was... well he was Blu.

Blu fitted Wheel Dog better and everyone knew, hopefully Blu would settle down for that role.

Star would never, that was just a fact.

Tahoe would most likely try and there was a chance but Jeager was strong.

Polaris was interested, everyone knew, but he was also extremely smart and would hopefully wait a few more years.

As for Arya herself, she couldn't say she wasn't interested.

Her plan was to wait another day and see who stepped up and then decide.

Blu tipped her nose upwards at Jaegers voice the ceips wind blew through the encaged valley tossing leaves at the canines. The big she dog stood shaking her pelt. She never had liked when the dogs would have to fight for lead dog. He mother had gotten killed fighting for it. Shaking the memory off her pelt she padded towards the 'pond'. It was man made and incased with tar to keep the water clean and fresh. She lowered her body lapping at the water. She had been with the pack for 4 years having joined it when she was only 2 she had helped the pack climb the ranks and that they did. She rose the white patch in her pelt catching the sun as she did so. The musher walked by the kennel holding harnesses she tilted her head trotting over to Kodak and Arya "do you know why he has the harnesses out? The snow isn't past my paws theirs no way we could pull a sled unless its on ice" she dropped down into a sitting position her tail thumping very slowly against the ground as she thought

Jaeger had been studying every dog for months. He may not be the best dog ever, may not be the kindest or even the best suited for lead, but he wasn't stupid. He only had a couple threats, in his opinion.

Kodack was too inexperienced in this pack to go for lead. They wouldn't try, because from what Jaeger had seen, they were pretty smart and knew that it wouldn't suit them yet. In his opinion, maybe in two or so years, they'd make a good lead, however.

Pigeon might attempt just cause she was a little spitfire, but he wasn't fighting her. She was too small, and he wasn't going to hurt her just to prove a point. However, he might attempt to talk her into a different position. The whole point of a wheel dog was to be big and powerful and calm. Teufel, from what Jaeger had seen, fit the bill perfectly. Pigeon did not.

Arya could, experience wise, but he didn't think she would. She seemed like she was content where she was, however, he could be wrong. She did seem to be watching quite carefully. If she did step up, he assumed she'd wait a day or two... she was cautious and cunning that way.

Blu was his main concern. She seemed okay being a Swing Dog, but she shouldn't be that, in his opinion. She should be a wheel dog with her size and strength. He believed he could beat her in a fight, although they were likely close to evenly matched.

Star would never challenge him. She was too timid, too calm.

Polaris had seemed like they may want to, but they also avoided conflict like the plague. He wasn't sure if they would fight for it.

Tahoe, on the other hand? That dog was a brazen one. He fully expected a challenge from them, and Aputiak too. Aputiak was too young to be lead, too inexperienced, but they would try, because they were arrogant as heck.

Lastly, Teufel. Jaeger didn't really know about them, but he assumed they wouldn't. First day in the pack, going for lead would be... bold, to say the least.

Teufel watched with a flat gaze, head tilted slightly to more easily see everyone with his good eye. Only a couple seemed eager. That was probably good.. less blood spilled.

From what he could tell, Jaeger was a strong dog that would defend the position. Teufel may not like them, but they were a force to be reckoned with. Plus, he could see the way they watched. Carefully, Calculating, eyeing up everyone.

Exactly how Arya was watching right now. Teufel's gaze flicked momentarily to her as she scanned the others, probably making a mental note in her mind. She seemed like she had been here for a while.. she was adjusted to the space, knew everyone, seemed calm yet careful. There was a chance even she went for it, but she was being more careful.

He decided that since they were a team, he needed to start to get to know and understand everyone, no matter how much that pained him. This seemed like a good place to start.

With a flick of his long tail, he stood and ambled 3 strides closer to Arya, sitting back down and curling his tail around his paws again. "Any guesses on who will challenge?" He mused lowly, his voice rumbling out of his chest. He had one ear swiveled towards her, the other towards everyone else, a small sign that he was listening.
