Blu hopped sideways as Athena made herself known by just about crashing into her. The white splotched grey female gave her coat a shake "just wake up did ya thea?" She asked with a huff of laughter. Blu was always softer with the younger ones. Plus she was in a better mood after chasing down that ground hog. She playfully nipped at Athenas hind legs "if you want to be a good team dog when your older better start getting a bit faster" the big female joked as she pulled ahead of the young husky

Elvis ran next to the ATV his blue flecked brown eyes catching the sight of a new canine. He let his tounge roll in a happy grin as he veered over to the wolf. "Hey there!" He said happily as he jumped over a stick with a unnecessaryly big leap. "I haven't seen you around what's your name newbie? I'm Elvis, aka twice killed Catholic. I'm not as much as a big shot as the rest but I have been a sub in a few big races"

Polaris

The she-dog was temporarily stunned into silence when the newcomer approached her and Pigeon, speaking in a way that Jaeger never did; he was soft-spoken in a way, but she could easily tell that there was more beneath how he was behaving, something that could apply to everyone on the team. His last comment about the team`s behavior made Polaris snort in amusement, ears flicking as she rose to her paws. She gave Pigeon a reassuring nod before exiting the shed as well, hoping to enjoy a few more moments of peace and quiet. The sun shone above the pen and it was almost blinding, her blue eyes struggling momentarily to adjust from the darkness of the shed to the brightness outside. Her aspirations for peace were abruptly terninated when their musher appeared at the gate; everyone knew precisely what that entailed, yet for once she did not feel like entertaining him. Polaris knew better than to disobey, but she did not want to have to deal with a rowdy group of canines that were at each others` throats. Her head lowered as she slowly sauntered forwards, keeping towards the back of the gathering team members.

She watched as Tahoe and the newcomer share a few words, annoyance rippling through her pelt; once again, these canines were desperate to prove themselves. Although she understood why they were behaving like this, she still believed it was necessary to actually behave decently around others. There truly was no need to get crude and aggressive with each other; it really was all about respect, but no one would gain hers if they kept behaving like this. Polaris sighed as she followed them over to the ATV. In all honesty, she really wasn`t anything special other than the fact that she had endurance; speed was something she had always worked on, even if she wasn`t slow by any means. And once everyone was ready, she took off as well and followed after them, keeping pace quite easily. She tried her best to be off to the side, knowing things were going to escalate; Polaris would never complain about being a mere observer.

Kodack had watched the commotion from the side-lines, as per usual.

The team was awfully disunited at the moment and he hated the idea of a newbie seeing this.

Kodack had been trying to size up the new dog, Teufel

He had so far noted that he was part wolf, Artic maybe, which explained his large size.

He also seemed to be about a year or two older than Kodack who was 5, although he carried himself as if he was much older.

His eyes looked so sure and burnt with that classic 'I'm better than you and i know it', which irriated Kodack.

Kodack himself had only been in the team 2 years, having been purchused after his stunning performance at the Yukan Quest and the Iditorad.

His former team wasn't as good his current but they were a sure lot more united.

He had watched the musher take Tahoe and Teufel out of the coral with the ATV.

He had just watched them leave, still curious about Teufel's nature, although now he was itching for a run.

The musher had left the gate open for the others to join, to Kodack's relief.

He rose onto his paws, rolling his shoulders underneath his sleek pelt and padded towards the gate.

He slipped outside, parting his jaws and letting the scents of the wild wash over his tongue.

He could make out Tahoe's scent and started heading for that direction.

He let the cool air flow through his thick black pelt before bounding across the snow.

Kodack slowly increased his speed until he was stretching out in large, garceful bounds.

His claw's were sheathed which was unusual but he had been practising running without his claws to get better grip, which would prove handy when they were racing on the ice.

Teufel kept his bounding pace easily, though he was going slow enough that others could likely catch up. He wasn't even near his top speed yet. Because of this, he heard quick pawsteps, then a small young squeaky sounding male came bouncing up beside him. They leapt over a stick like it was a hot poker, their voice so cheerful it almost hurt. How could anyone be that happy? Whatever. "Blazing Teufel, AKA Teufel." He answered flatly, not even out of breath as he continued at a slightly faster pace. "Go run with someone else, kid. I like running alone." He huffed out, veering sideways slightly to run along the forest line instead.

Jaeger let his paws thunder against the ground as he flew along, happy to just be running. This was the one time when he refused to fight with any of his teammates- then and when actually hooked up to a sled. When he needed to, he could be extremely self controlled and calm. Running was a sacred thing, and no one could interrupt this. His tongue lolled out of his mouth as he flew along, his fur rippling in the wind. He stayed on the beaten path, out ahead of most wolves. Except for Teufel and Elvis, who seemed to be ahead of literally everyone.

Elvis watched as teufel veered off leaving him to run alone "wow grumpy much" he mumbled as he dove infront of the ATV and crossed to the other side so he could find someone else to run with. Falling back a little he fell in step with Jaeger "new dog Acts like someone but his left ear off then gave it back to him as a chewed up mess" he joked lightly yelping as the ATV hit a branch that recoiled and smacked him in the face. He quickly recovered and fell in step with Jaeger again

Blu made a sharp turn around a rock her movements fluid and graceful as she pulled ahead of the ATV and the rest of the pack. They where in the lane now trees lining each side of them with a long open stretch of land. This is where everyone had been first hooked up to a sled together. Where Blu and Kodak first learned how to work as a team to get around rocks and ledges. Kodak was the only dog Blu actually liked they had to work together and not hold grudges because a lot of the time they collided to get around corners. She let her strides eat up the earth moving at full speed her dark coat was a blur across the landing. When she reached the end she dove through the woods to where the creek was lapping up some water before returning to wait for the rest of the pack. She was hardly panting and her tail was thumping slowly against the ground. How she loved to run.

| "Who does Blu think she is?!" Pigeon yelled while she walked behind everyone. "She isn't the lead dog! She also isn't a wheel dog! I am!" She bared her teeth angrily and caught up to the others, passing everyone of them. "Hah!" she fake-laughed and continued running. |

Teufel rolled his eyes as he ran along, having easily heard them. His maw twisted into a smirk as they ran into the branch. "Rookie." He snorted quietly, leaping over a tree and landing easily. He tried not to focus on anyone, or think about the rude male- they would just ruin his nice evening. Little did he know it was likely going to get ruined by that same dog. His ear twitched as the little female barked out an insult at Blu before running up ahead. How were they the other wheel dog? Wheel dogs had to be big and strong- whatever. He huffed out a sigh and sped up slightly, diving into the woods and weaving around trees.

Jaeger glanced at Elvis as the young dog ran up beside him, scoffing. "I'm pretty sure they did. Also, next time, approach on his left." He snickered, remembering the light blue, stormy eye. "Blind as a bat on that side, he must be." He shook his head as he ran, glancing at Pigeon as they ran past. His eyes rolled. Still, she was right. Blu wasn't the lead dog- technically, he was until he was challenged. So there was that.

Blu took up a run again as the pack drove by. She neared up next to pidgion "do I really have to be a lead dog to love to run? I'm a swing dog I'm right behind our lead dogs and I can still have a good run if Id like" she snapped coldly at pidgion"your a wheel dog your at the very back of the line up so quit flapping your lips and just deal with the fact that you aren't the most important dog on the team" Blu didn't wait for pidgion to reply she just took a big bounding leap and pulled ahead of the pack again running on the outskirts where she wouldn't have to deal with any of them.

Elvis snorted his ears laying flat at pidgions remark "I've got nothing against pidge but what is up with her and Blu?" He asked watching Blu snap at her before veering away "hopefully everyone will get back their pack order when we start racing again" the mouse brown male watched pidgion with sofe blue flecked brown eyes. After a second he turned back to Jaeger "I'm hoping you will be one of our lead dogs again, I don't think the pack can even handle one completely new lead dog nevertheless two"

| "Blu! Look, if you have something against me being one of the MOST important dogs, then tell me!" Pigeon raced up to Blu and scratched her, hard and fast. (help that sounds uh) She then moved back to the back so Blu wouldn't find her. However, she was the reddest husky so she was quite visible. |
